If you are planning on attending MSOE, be prepared for working hard on homework and studying. Also, you should plan on having fun at your 4 or 5 years at MSOE. (MSOE offers 5 year dual degree program).

If you are looking for a challenge, this is the place for you. Don't come here expecting parties every night or to find your next girlfriend. This school is very down to earth when it comes to their curriculum but keep students busy their entire scholarly career.

Manage your time well and make sure you study enough to know the material.

Study and do home work for at least two hours for every hour you spend in class. I know that sounds like a lot, but you need to, in order to keep up. Don't be afraid to join an org, it's amazing fun. Trust me, I would laugh if someone told me in high school that I was gonna join a sorority.

Be ready for a very fast, hard, beneficial education. Make sure you plan your future according to your class schedules, because if you fall behind in school it will be difficult to catch up.

MSOE is tough. A lot of time and hard work is essential to getting your degree here, so be prepared to work!

Leave your dorm room during welcome week. What you do during welcome week can make or break your experience. If I hadn't stepped out of my comfort zone and introduced myself to so many people, my life now would be so dull. Make friends. Branch out. You will not regret it.

Studying is an essential tool for academic success, no matter your previous high school background. Make good choices in friends and use your friends to help review materials if you have the same instructor.

MSOE's social atmosphere seems nonexistent if you don't look for things to do and people to hang out with. If you want to talk to people or do things, pay attention to your email, as many social events are posted through this medium. In addition, learn to be organized, setting aside times to study and do homework, as MSOE has a very tough course load. At the same time, don't expect to get a 4.0 throughout your time here, as only 7 people in school history have.
