The Appily Story

The story of Appily began with our own frustrations – the frustration that comes from stumbling through the maze of college planning and applications. We found it hard to know where to find information and even more difficult to know what to trust.

To simplify the process for other students, we created Cappex in 2006. For close to twenty years, Cappex served as the most comprehensive and easy-to-use school and scholarship search platform in the industry.

In 2020, Cappex was acquired by EAB, an industry leader dedicated to driving transformative change in higher education. In addition to Cappex, EAB had other world-class tools in its ecosystem, like YouVisit, which helps students narrow down their college choices, and Concourse, which connects them with reverse admission offers from colleges.

In 2023, we saw an opportunity to bring all of these resources together for students to make using them even easier. So with the power of EAB behind us, we created a new, all-in-one student website built to provide even greater confidence to the college search, selection, and application process.

We named the new website Appily because, here, you’ll find everything you need to make the right choices and begin to live your Appily ever after.
