Maine Maritime Academy is a public college with a campus overlooking the Castine Harbor in Maine. The school provides hands-on technical training aboard commercial vessels, the Schooner Bowdoin, and the Training Ship State of Maine. Students can choose to enroll in an independent program or a regimental program, and students who enroll in the regimental programs are considered “midshipmen,” however the school is not affiliated with the military and there is no military obligation post graduation.
