What Students Are Saying

Lafayette is a pretty laid-back town.. The University has some decent on-campus residencies. Some semesters will feel more like high school but don't get distracted. In the end, you are solely responsible for yourself. Enjoy the services you are paying for.
Jonathan from Brusly, LA
I believe the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is the best bet for students in any field of study. When I was looking for a college during my high school years, I looked for the best programs in my state and ULL was at the top of the list. Being here one semester, I have found out a lot about the programs offered here. The Engineering program is one of the best in the nation. Many of the schools here have great programs in this field but ULL has surpassed many of them in graduates and competions in engineering. Also the Nursing program is highly reconized among fellow schools when it comes time for student to do there clinicals. If your an international student, UL is the right school for you. Over 100 countries are represented here on campus. International student are treated nicely and are welcomed.
If you are looking for a college where you can be accepted for who you are and will find some where to fit in easily, ULL is for you

Take full advantage of all of the opportunities you have at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Know what tools are available to you. Worried about the cost of books? Follet's, a bookstore right by campus allows you to rent most of your books for the entire semester for a much lower price than purchasing. Pick a major that you will like and stick to it. Do not be afraid to ask for help because most of the people on campus are truly friendly and teachers are really understanding.
TaLysha from New Orleans, LA
My advice for all incoming students is to get to know your professors because they want to know you and be there for you. Join organizations and get to know other students who share your pride. Be a proud RAGIN' CAJUN !
Kayla from Baton Rouge, LA
study hard, and don't give up.
Garth from New Iberia, LA
Schedule your classes as soon as possible and check back on availability frequently! People are constantly changing their classes around and you may be able to grab a class someone just dropped.
Emily
If you come here thiking you don't have any help at all in college, you will be pleasantly surprised. This school is a great school for people who are looking for that home away from home.
Nia from Houston, TX
Join as many organizations as possible and take advantage of all the schools resources like the library, campus shuttle, recreation center, and computer labs. Also get to know your professors because many are willing to help you.
