In three sentences | I love this school. It's small, so you basically know everyone in your grade. And, it's not in a big city, so it's a very safe campus. |
Tips for prospective students | Don't get too excited about the food. And be prepared to take 18+ credit hours every semester. |
Academic Rigor | The programs are hard, but they're some of the best in the nation. |
Dorm Life | Freshman dorms suck, but they get better as you get older. Just remember to bring flip flops for the shower! |
Food and Dining | The food's not great. Be prepared to eat a salad or a bagel at least once a day. |
What to do for fun | Ada's small, but there are places to eat in town and they have a movie theater. The Student Planning Committee also puts on some cool events throughout the year. |
Bang for the buck | I'm not at all worried about getting a job once I graduate from here. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | In the winter, you have to #PolarBearUp. |
Great for these types of students | Anyone who doesn't want to go to a big school. |

Am learning a lot | Professors at ONU take an incredibly hands-on approach to teaching. Their dedication and support can't be ignored, helping students to achieve excellence and find their True North. |
Am enjoying being here | Students, faculty, and staff at ONU are warm and welcoming from the moment you step foot on campus. No matter where you go, you will be greeted with a smile and a helping hand. The small school atmosphere makes it hard to not enjoy your time here...you are sure to run into a friend around every corner! |
Bang for the buck | It can't be denied that ONU is an expensive private school, but don't let that discourage you! Financial Aid is readily available and the quality degree programs are well-worth the investment. |
Tips for prospective students | Get involved as soon as you reach campus! Ada is a small community, but once you meet friends and participate in campus organizations, you will forget that you are surrounded by corn fields! |
Great for these types of students | ONU is great for students who are looking for personalized education and a tight-knit campus community. The university has top-ranking pharmacy, engineering, and business colleges. There are also many unique degree programs, such as a 6-year Pharm D, Pharmaceutical Business, Forensic Accounting, and Forensic Biology. |

In three sentences | Ohio Northern is a small school in a small town. The campus is nice, and easy to walk to everything. The programs are good and most professors are good and accessible. |
Tips for prospective students | Make sure you can handle being on a small campus. Get to know your advisor and professors. Get involved in at least one student group; there are plenty to choose from. |
Academic Rigor | Classes are pretty intense, but you can always get help.Professors are easy to make appointments with. You can also get tutoring easily if you need it. |
Dorm Life | Dorms are like everywhere else. Mostly on the small side. Choose a roommate wisely! |
Food and Dining | There are not many dining options. The cafeteria is not bad, but you get tired of it. White Bear and NOM are good alternatives sometimes. Ada does have some great Italian and Mexican restaurants. |
What to do for fun | Many groups on campus have events all the time. The Freed Center also has great shows and concerts. Just pay attention to emails and signs around campus. |
Bang for the buck | Seems expensive, but the scholarships and grants are very generous. |

In three sentences | Great college in a small quiet town. The professors are amazing at their jobs and are very personable. I definitely recommend checking out Ohio Northern University as a choice for future students. |
Tips for prospective students | Make sure to bring warm clothing for the winter months. It's really cold! Ohio Northern has many extra curriculars to offer students. The first week there is Welcomefest to check out all the activities. I highly encourage you to check everything out, and try new things! Just don't spread yourself too thin. |
Academic Rigor | Excellent programs, challenging and educational. |
Dorm Life | Some areas can be small but with proper organization it is fine. Make sure to get along with your roommate. Dorms are kept clean and well taken care of. |
Food and Dining | There is the main cafeteria hall- buffet style. There is Northern On Main and White Bear that will take your dining points. There is also McDonald's down the road, subway, East of Chicago, Taco Bell, local pizza places and Chinese food. |

Am learning a lot | I am only a freshmen, so most of my classes are sort of repetitive. However, I have learned alot. |
Am enjoying being here | Ohio Northern has some of the best peole around. Everyone is friendly and the lady at the cafeteria always knows your name. The professors are always happy to help. The campus is beautiful and even though Ada is very sparse, I like being here on weekends. |
Bang for the buck | I would say this only if you get a scholarship. If you are paying the whole 45K a year, then no it is not worth it. But just about any scholarship nets you a very managable payment, only a little higher than the state schools in the area. With the quality and people, I would say that it is definately worth it. |
Tips for prospective students | Apply for the school scholarships such as the presidential, dean scholarships. These can pay up to half of your expences. |
Great for these types of students | Hard workers. |

In three sentences | The best student tours. The professors took me into all of the labs that I would ever have a class in. My tour was one on one with a professor. |
Academic Rigor | I was given a complete list of every class I would have to take for my degree, which was helpful for choosing AP classes. |
Dorm Life | The dorm I was showed was better than any of the other colleges I visited, and after your freshman year you get apartment style living. |
Food and Dining | I did not eat on my visit but the options that I saw looked nice and were organized and clean. |
Bang for the buck | Everything I have heard about this school says it is worth the price. Once you apply and are accepted they will send you a scholarship offer and most of the offers are very good. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | I was told that Ohio Northern has the most trees of any college campus in the US. I visited in the fall and all of the leaves changing color were absolutely beautiful. |
Clubs and Activities | My tour guide showed us all the facilities and told me about the clubs that she is in and there seems to be a wide selection. |
Campus Safety | I took a Saturday tour and there was barely any activity. It was as if the whole campus was empty so not safety issue. Also there is no smoking allowed so there is not second hand smoke. |

Academic Rigor | Some classes can be tough but they are very good and help prepare you. |
Dorm Life | The idea of staying in a dorm can be scary for some people. The residence staff is great at trying to get you involved and setting up activities to help you engage with other students. |

Am learning a lot | The professors are extremely helpful and accomodating. Many of them leave in Ada and don't mind making time for students individually. Class sizes are around 30, which is benefitial. |
Am enjoying being here | You meet tons of fun people from all over. It is a smaller campus, so everyone knows everyone, which makes it just like your hometown. |
Bang for the buck | I am in the pharmacy program, and it is one of the best in the nation. ONU has an extremely high pass percentage on the boards, which is comforting to students. |
