Am learning a lot
I have learned a lot about my physical body and nutrition in our PE Class and about the world economy in my Economics class. Textiles has been interesting to see the different kinds of material that clothes can be made from. Art has been a learning process with the different mediums we used this sememster.
Am enjoying being here
There are lots of things to do on campus and around town.
Bang for the buck
I am receiving the education I need for the future. The campus has a tram we can ride to downtown which saves gas money.
Tips for prospective students
Come check out the campus and see if it is a place you can call home for awhile.
Great for these types of students
Anyone wanting to go to a university in a fairly large town but not be overwhelmed by a large campus.

Varied courses for those wishing to apply themselves at different levels.
Am enjoying being here
There's always plenty to do and the Campus is full of freindly people. The town itself is the perfect intersection of small town charm and city life.
Bang for the buck
Inexpensive, but you won't get much aid if your GPA and ACT scores aren't up to snuff, regardless of financial need, though this the situation with most colleges.
Tips for prospective students
Enjoy the dorm life, make those lasting friendships, and find your niche. There's always something to do, the trick is knowing what is a good idea to do.
Great for these types of students
Small town kids trying to get into a bigger city, but not wanting St. Louis. Art majors of all types. And kids trying to get away from the big city but not wanting to be in the middle of nowhere.

The instructors are great. The instructors I have are all willing to help outside of class, if you ask them. Most provide a great learning environment and teach classes in an intelligent manner.

The campus at Missouri State University- Springfield is really easy to get around. By the few days I was here, I could find things very easily and have no trouble. The thing I love about our campus the most is the fact that it does not take a long time to get across campus.
Bang for the buck
MSU provides a great college experience at affordable prices. There are scholarships offered and it is easy to apply. The classroom size is really great because they are not very big. There is a great instructor-student relationship that can be formed.
Tips for prospective students
Have fun, but be diligent in your studies. Be involved on campus. Join a fraternity or sorority; or at least some form of an organization. I did and do not regret it at all.
Great for these types of students
MSU is great for students that want to live in a large town, but not be overwhelmed. There is a small-town feel that is easy to get around.
There are many majors available and the agriculture department is really great.

Am learning a lot
The professors I've had here have been great (with maybe one exception.) All of them have been really interested in having their students succeed, and most of them will provide extra time to meet up (outside of office hours.)

I like how friendly the students all are here. It's not a super-huge named school (I transferred in from Penn State,) but the environment is much more friendly. The only downside is that a lot of people tend to go home for the weekend. It's not the majority, but it is a large enough chunk to notice. The downside I've had here is that there are sometimes struggles within the departments with class scheduling. Due to the cruddy economy, several times classes are dropped due to low enrollment, and that can be rough if it's a pre-req for your program. It can be worked through, it's just inconvenient.
Bang for the buck
I would say that all of the classes I've had were pretty good. I haven't had any absolutely horrible courses. The professors are smart and helpful, and the facilities are nice. There is going to be a brand new fitness center this fall, which was the one facility I wasn't all that excited about. They are also renovating a majority of the dorms, so those are going to be better as well.
Tips for prospective students
Get a good counselor, and don't be afraid to talk with your professors. If you have any scheduling issues be sure to talk to the department secretaries/professors who are teaching the class. Also, talk with the Financial Aid department, the lady I went to when I transferred there was great, and she went out of her way to help me get a scholarship.
Great for these types of students
This is a great college for people who want a great education for less than many other colleges. The enrollment is increasing, but not at an astronomical rate, so it will appeal to those who like medium-sized school. Also, if you're into clubs, there is a great orientation program here at the beginning so you can see what clubs/activities we have.

Every professor is willing to help. Even when I did have a problem with a teacher I went to my advisor and the problem was cleared up that day! Everyone wants you to succeed.

At MSU you create another family. There are over 300 different organizations you can choose from, and if the one you want isn't there you can create your own. Between organizations, my sorority, and basketball games there is never a dull moment.
Bang for the buck
When I was deciding on which school I wanted to go to I found that MSU offers tons of scholarships. So even though it is a four year university you can pay your own way without student loans. Many of our departments have departmental scholarships too, so you aren't out there by yourself.
Tips for prospective students
Get a great advisor! There are so many but, they can really help you with financial aid and scheduling classes. (mine even has a recliner in their office you can use if your having a bad day!)
Great for these types of students
All students, we have many international students and local. We are a very diverse student body.

The classes at Missouri State are challenging enough to keep me learning, but manageable. I do not feel discouraged when I am challenged in class, but rather ready to learn more. The required class, PED 100, the class everyone expects to be a breeze, is surprisingly one of the most challenging. But I put in the hours studying for this class, along with all of my others, and I feel like I have learned a great deal from all of my classes during my first semester at Missouri State.

Missouri State University is located in Springfield, Missouri, the 3rd largest city in the state. I come from a small town, so going to school in Springfield is great! It has all the perks of a city, with the feel of small town. At MSU, there are always events and activities that I can get involved in on campus. It is a great campus and has a lot of great students. I have made a lot of new friends and I always have a lot of fun at college.

Their student activities council has at least one activity almost every day and thats not even counting the resident hall activities. Also the campus is big but its all close together. It was made for a student who wanted to live in a bigger city but a smaller campus that is still a pretty decent size.
Bang for the buck
Sure it could be a little cheaper but what 4 year college is cheap. Compared to other schools in the state, Missouri State is pretty low price.
Tips for prospective students
If you know what you want to major in, schedule a meeting with someone from that department. I had a meeting with someone from the Music Department and he was hilarious. He also ended up being my accompanist for my audition. Don't be scared to talk to the teachers. Also, take a tour. Missouri State was a second choice and after I toured it, I loved it more than my first choice.
Great for these types of students
