Middle Tennessee State University is a 4-year public institution in central Tennessee founded in 1911. MTSU is home to eight colleges granting undergraduate degrees in over 140 academic programs as well as the first Honors College in the state. To provide a break from the rigors of academia, MTSU hosts a three-story student union and rec center featuring an indoor pool and climbing wall. All new students are asked to take the True Blue Pledge at MTSU’s annual Convocation Ceremony, committing to non-violent conflict resolution.
