Academics at Manhattanville College are very important. Small student to teacher ratios give students the opportunity to reach out to their professors both inside and outside of the classroom. Small class sizes also allow for the students to be a part of the conversation in the class, regardless of the style of class such as lecture or seminar style. Professors do have strict offices hours but are easily available for meetings outside of their posted hours. The Manhattanville College Library offers tools and services for students that allow the students to opportunity to do their best work. The Learning Commons, located in the library, houses the writing center. The writing center are professors in the English department who offer their brains and help students with papers whether they are for an English class or not. They will help with outlines for papers and even help with editing as well. The best part about the writing center is that it is free of charge and professors are posted at the center throughout the entire day.
