LIU is a very good school especially for pharmacy. So if you want to become a pharmacist, then you should definitely come to LIU. Also LIU is a very good commuting school. There's the subway right outside the gate. There's buses and trains all around the campus.
Bassam from Suffern, NY
The camp is small enough for more one-on-one sessions with teachers. The professors work to ensure students understand the material.
Tiana from Menifee, CA
Make sure you get a lot of scholarships and be very interactive with the different groups that the school provides.
Michael from St. Thomas, VI
Make sure you look at the rate my professor website when choosing your classes.
Eiriena from Staten Island, NY
My tips for prospective students is to let your fears of college go, and get the party aspect of college out of your head. This is a great university and you do not want to be side tracked on anything else but your studies, take full advantage of all the opportunities to excel that are provided to you.
Aliciya from Worcester, MA
Be ready to work. A good GPA is easy to attain if you set your mind to it. If you've got a good work ethic, don't be afraid to take a big workload.
Alyssa from New York City, NY
Independence is the key. Long Island University is in the middle of Brooklyn. You are by yourself in the middle of the city. You have to learn to do things by yourself. In college you really cant count on a lot of people because at the end of the day everyone has there own profession they want to pursue. No one cares for you. You have to be strong on your own. There are many fun activities that the school holds which allows you to branch out and meet new people. Getting involved in a lot of clubs is something you should want to do. Again this allows you to have something to do on campus and get to know others as well. Sitting in your room will not allow you to enjoy the school. Try to have fun because you only get to live this life once.
Chinaemerem from New City, NY
Its good to get involved in this college because there are many things to do, but the only trouble is finding out what there is to do. Another tip would be to make use of the gym because you are paying $65.00 for student activities so make use of the money. Also there is $40.00 on the student ID card which can be used for food in the cafe.
Have fun and be open minded. There are going to be things that you are not use to but after awhile you will begin to adapt.
