Am learning a lot | The professors are all so nice and caring. They are very easy to get to know personally, thanks to small class size. |
Am enjoying being here | There are some of the most wonderful people I've met at Geneva! Unfortunately, aside from just haning out, there's not much to do except go to walmart. |
Bang for the buck | Tuition only covers up to 17 credit hours, instead of 18. So, if you take more than the allowed 17, be ready to dish out about $800 per credit. Mealplan costs don't vary as much as the mealplans themselves vary. |
Tips for prospective students | Know exactly what you're looking for. Don't settle for a school that's not what you want. |

Am learning a lot | I attended high school at a small private school where we did not have access to things such as computer labs, science labs, and individual academic advisers. At Geneva, I am pursuing an Engineering degree and have been able to learn hands on in the labs. Something else that has aided my in my learning experience is that the professors care about their students and are willing to help students inside the classroom and during non class times as well. |
Am enjoying being here | The atmosphere on campus is very friendly and inviting. The college staff members and residence life staff members plan activities that are worth attending. The only downside is that the campus is located in a small town with little that is within walking distance. |
Bang for the buck | Private schools are expensive, but Geneva does give out a lot of financial aid and scholar awards. You will pay a lot to attend Geneva, but if you want to attend a college with people and professors who care about you while getting a good education, then Geneva is the place for you. |
Tips for prospective students | Living on campus, especially in the traditional dorm residence halls, gives an experience like nothing else. I recommend living in a residence hall on campus, you would be surprised at the close friendships that you make. Also, as far as academics go, if you find something difficult, go talk to your professor. They are there to help; and most of them are very helpful and truly enjoy helping you out one-on-one. |
Great for these types of students | Geneva College is great for any student who wants to attend a small, Christian college and meet great people in the process. It is also great for those who may have come from a very small high school or homeschooling setting who are used to more individual attention from instructors. However, it is not a bad choice for those who are used to large institutions either. |

In three sentences | Geneva College will academically challenge you. It also gives you many opportunities to find yourself and who you are in God. It's not always easy but there are many people here who are on your side. |
Tips for prospective students | Look for as many scholarships as you can. Prepare yourself for your major and be ready for the amount of work that you may get. It's important to have time to study. You are also required to attend 11 chapels. It's important to try and get something out of these because the messages are important to your life. |
Academic Rigor | It all depends on how your schedule is and the classes you get. If you have all 8 a.m.'s and 18 credits, expect yourself to be tired. Always try to find time to study. Some classes have group study sessions. Take advantage of the time you have that is free. |
Dorm Life | Dorm life is pretty nice. The rooms aren't too bad and the people are very easy to get along with. The R.A.'s are always open to talk and are there for you. Open hours are somewhat odd, but it's not too bad to get used to. It can get a little noisy when people get back on the weekend but there is a good atmosphere. |
Food and Dining | The food isn't too bad. They have plenty of desserts and a generally good selection of options. You can choose to go to Alex's Dining Hall or the Brigadoon. Alex's generally has a better selection, but the Brig is a nice place to go to hang out or do work. Every once in a while there is a specialty meal night. This could be steak, chicken, and shrimp, or culturally unique foods. |
What to do for fun | You can hang out with your friends, go to Pizza Joe's, play Ultimate Frisbee, check out some movies from the library, watch t.v. in the lounge, sit outside and read, walk to the park, visit other dorms, or jam to some music. Upper Room on Thursdays is also really great! You get to listen to really awesome music, hang out with your friends, and worship. |
Bang for the buck | For the most part, I would say that it's totally worth it! Sometimes it's hard to find something to do, but then again there is always something to do. It does seem quite expensive, and I won't deny that, but it's so much better than a public college. The professors are wonderful and you have great opportunities to make wonderful friends. Geneva really does give you an experience like no other. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | Memorial Hall has a tree of tennis shoes for those who have dormed there for four years. There is a zombie apocalypse here. Chapel is attended every week. |
Great for these types of students | Geneva is great for believers in Christ but also for anyone who wants to be academically challenged. |
Clubs and Activities | There are many activities as well as clubs. There are plenty of bible studies that go on and support groups. There's also Ultimate Frisbee and many other fun things! |
Campus Safety | Security is always doing rounds at night and the people here are non-violent and thoughtful. |

Will enjoy being here | The college offers things to do on the weekends almost every week. |
Bang for the buck | It looks like a great college and offers a good amount of financial aid. The engineering program has ensured 100% of its students a job within six months of graduation. |
Great for these types of students | Hard working, passionate |

In three sentences | I am very excited to begin my jouney at Geneva in the fall. I am able to live at home, and yet get a Christian college experience. |
Tips for prospective students | The campus has a beatiful view of the river. The hillside opposite of Geneva across the river has a giant G on it that students can even hike to. |
Academic Rigor | I have heard many positive views about Geneva's engineering department. |
Food and Dining | When I attended an open house at Geneva, there were many delicious food items for us to choose from. |
What to do for fun | There are a lot of nice little shops in Beaver Falls that you may not find elsewhere. Also, just minutes away is Buttermilk Falls, a beautiful park with an amazing waterfall that should definately be checked out! |
Bang for the buck | I was afraid of not being able to afford a private Christian college, but I recieved an amazing scholarship and now I am able to attend in the fall cheaper than a state school! |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | Geneva is the home of the Golden Tornados. Their mascot's name is Turbo. |
Clubs and Activities | Geneva's marching band is very impressive and they even use fireworks in their shows. |

In three sentences | if you are looking for a christian college with rigorous academics, you can find it here at geneva. geneva is small enough to see familiar faces, but still large enough to make new friends. no matter what type of person you are - social, athletic, inquisitive - you will find a crowd here! |
Tips for prospective students | it doesn't hurt to get involved with as many leadership opportunities before college to prepare you. take your sat/acts seriously and score as highly as you can - they determine how much money you'll earn for academic scholarships for all 4 years you'll spend at geneva. take them more than once if you must, admissions takes your highest scores into consideration. |
Academic Rigor | i thought that, if i went to a school that valued faith in practice, academic rigor would be lacking. i've found that to be false at geneva - faith integration in the classroom & rigorous academics are equally important. i have spoken to alumni in my field (communication disorders) who have said that geneva's professors and coursework helped them to be more than prepared for grad school and the workforce. |
Dorm Life | the sense of community in freshman residence halls is fantastic - the doors on the hall are almost always open! upperclassmen usually live in the apartments across the street, but i would recommend starting out in a freshman dorm so that you can build a good foundation of friends for your 4 years here. most of my good friends now are the ones who i met on my hall during freshman year. |
Food and Dining | alex's is the traditional dining hall and it's not bad. it's really all in what you make of it - you can choose to eat healthy or not. if alex's closes while you're in class, you can go to the brig (the brigadoon) to eat - it's a relaxed, cafe-type environment. even if you're not there to eat, it's a good place to hang out or study (we also have 2 coffee shops within walking distance!). |
What to do for fun | student activities does a good job of planning activities for those of us who don't go home on weekends. there's always intramural sports and varsity games to go to, but hey, sometimes chilling out on the couch with a movie and ordering pizza joe's (3 words - veggie supreme pizza) is all you wanna do. not to mention that pittsburgh is only a half hour away, and there is always something going on in the city! |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | some students hike to the g (the high-ropes course on the hill behind geneva), others enjoy studying over a cup of coffee at beaver falls coffee & tea co. (owned by a geneva prof across the street!), and some like to get involved with the community by tutoring in the local after-school program tiger pause. there are plenty of fun campus events that allow for dressing up, too (like the president's ball, film fest, etc.), if you enjoy getting all snazzy. |
Campus Safety | there are emergency buttons all over campus - and ladies, if you ever don't want to walk by yourself, they'll even escort you back to your room. campus security is on call 24/7, just press a button or dial the emergency number. it's good to have, but i have never needed to use it. |

In three sentences | Geneva College is an Reformed Presbyterian private school in the middle of Beaver Falls. The Professors actually care about your education and the material they are teaching. It will challenge you, mold you, and shape you. |
Tips for prospective students | -Don't try to fit it -Stand up for what you believe in -Break the social norm -Know that you don't have to conform to the patterns of this world -Keep your mind focused of academics -Get engaged into the Beaver Falls community |
Academic Rigor | Geneva College is an academic rigorous College. Specifically the Bible Department has scholars teaching the student body Bible classes. We are one of the top schools for our engineering program. |
Dorm Life | Although the community style dorms aren't as spacious as the average size 2 person room the dorm itself is AMAZING. Its made for both introverts, and extraverts. Both you and your roommate are able to have separate areas while being able to adapt to the life of sharing your living space. |
Food and Dining | This year Geneva College hired Pioneer Food Catering Company to take control of the food on campus. Although the food is good (except for weekends due to less staff) there isn't as much variety. Luckily students are able to use Flex Points to order food at Papa Johns, or eat at The brig which is another food place on campus. There is BFCAT which stands for Beaver Falls Coffee and Tea which has some of the best flavors I have ever tasted in my life. One of the best things about it is the fact that one of the most popular professors on campus runs it. Last but not least across the street is a PA and Ohio famous Pizza Joes who makes the best specialty pizza's for an amazing price...did I mention you get a discount there? |
What to do for fun | The student programs office, and multicultural student services always has an event occurring on campus each week. Everyone including the community comes out to see the Golden Tornadoes play various sports. Beaver Falls has Various ways to get involved for free! Even there is a movie theater, and bowling alley down the street. Although Beaver Falls isn't as thriving as it use to be there are many inner city neighborhoods surrounding Beaver Falls. |

Great for these types of students | Christians, Academic, Sociable, Friendly, Shy, Quiet |
Clubs and Activities | Different clubs exist and hold events for members and non-members alike. |
