What Students Are Saying

Don't live on campus if you live near home. The dorms are smaller than normal and it's not worth the money.
Brittaney from Dexter, MI
Stay on top of your priorities. Be sure to stay on top of academics and financial aid. Dont be afraid to get involved on campus. Eastern is a place where you can get the most out of your time there by being fully engaged socially and academically. There are a lot of great people attending this school, so you can definitley make some life long friends here. EMU has a impressive library to take advantage of. There are also tons of academic resourses to utilize, that are always accessible if you need help in any area of study.
John from Southfield, MI
Don't get caught up in wordly activities because once you attend a party you will want to go time and time again and this will take away your focus and study time. Always keep in mind the reason why your going to college and I hope it isn't to party because you could have done that without paying college tuitions.
DeAujejuan from Westland, MI
There's no special trick to making one's way through Eastern but some advice I would give is to sign up for classes early, research the professors to find the best one, and make sure to take only the classes relevant to the respective programs you are in.
Madeline from Saline, MI
Live on campus (for at least one year). The freshman center is a great place to meet friends and comfortably get involved. Be flexible with your major! I changed mine 3 times my first two years until I settled into business. I definitely made the right choice for me!
Stephanie from Toledo, OH
As long as you stay focused on getting good grades and ask your teachers for help when you need it, you should do well at EMU.
Mr Spearman
If you come here make sure you get involved. It will make your college life so much easier and you will know so many people. Whether its with Student Government, a fraternity or sorority, and anything else. GET INVOLVED!
Tyler from Osseo, MI
The main goal of attending Eastern Michigan University, as well as any other college, is become lazy enough whereas your grades are a negative reflection of your effort. The work is not that hard and do not put partying before school work. That is what I did, but I definitely learned from it second semester.
Nigel from Flint, MI
I was told this when I first came to Eastern, and it is Make this what you want that was the best advice I could have ever received. I found my niche within minutes of stepping on campus and could not have enjoyed my time here any more that what I currently do.
Zachariah from Bloomville, OH
If you choose EMU as your college, become active in the community! being active with EMU campus helps you meet people and guides you to becoming a leader. also, use the help that they have to provide you!
Lindsey from Rochester Hills, MI
