Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Out-of-State Tuition Out-of-state tuition is the tuition charged by institutions to those students who do not meet the state's or institution's residency requirements. Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

It's not the cheapest school, but the experience has definitely been worth it!
Martin from Saint Louis, MO
The classrooms are awesome and the school is beautiful. There are only two things I have found that I do not like about the school. The cafeteria food get bland and repetitive after a while. And the dorm rooms are not as nice as some other schools I have seen, even though they are very spacious. The dorms could be much nicer, but they are still okay anyhow.
TABITHA from Georgetown, SC
Though tuition is fairly high for this school, the financial aid and scholarship that the school offers is absolutely amazing and I personally will not have to pay for any tuition or room & board because of combined scholarships.
Corinna from Sumter, SC
Its well worth the money
Talikqua from Jamestown, SC
Student discounts everywhere including the barnes and noble campus store.
Angel from Sumter, SC
csu is not a cheap school, but it is definitely worth every penny.
CSU student
The school is a bit pricey if you cant find scholarships. But the up side is that CSU offers scholarships within the school so make sure to ask about those.
audrey from North Charleston, SC
Even though CSU is a little expensive, there are many scholarships and financial aid opportunities offered. While attending the school, I realized it's worth it.
Ciera from Florence, SC
A fabulous school! I would recommend to anyone!
