so far i have only taken core classes but they were very useful to my major. The college will not put you in classes you don't need.

There are always so many activities to do on campus and there is a few things to do around campus.

This is a reasonable affordable college that has so much to offer.

I have learned so much in my first three semesters here. The classes are generally small, so there is great professor/student ratio's. They are amusing and easy to get along with and are always willing to help. And the Learning Resource Center is always available if you are ever in need of extra assistance.

There is always something to do around campus. Concerts, Relay for Life, club sports, collegiate sports, a brand new, amazing workout center complete with rock climbing wall. Not to mention the fraternities and sororities which are always doing something.

You are not paying a lot to be here but you are definately getting your monies worth. It's a wonderful learning environment and you are sure to have a blast.

Make sure your work comes first, and you will be just fine. You shouldn't be here if you're not serious.

Anybody that likes a small but serious atmosphere.

The class sizes are small which I think is great because it gives you a chance to form a bond with the professor and they know who their students are and the teachers really want to help their students do well.

There's so much to do on campus, there's a lot of clubs to get involved in and CAB always has an event to go to on campus. The surrounding area offers a lot of different qualities, some areas have a city feel, while others have a small town suburban feel, so there's different variations of areas surrounding campus. The school is also an hour from Baltimore, MD and an hour from Hersey, PA.

The education I am receiving here is excellent, York College was ranked number 13 among the best regional colleges in the North by U.S News 2011 Best College's Edition. For a private college, York is extremely affordable.

Come visit the campus, and ask questions of the students at while on the tour to get a feel of how others feel about the school.

York has an excellent chem/science program.

I'm a business major and I think the program is great and the professors really know what they're talking about and they enjoy helping their students.

The staff is very open minded, and willing to help in anyway they can. I have never felt more comfortable in a class setting than I do at York. The campus overall is just beautiful: the scenery and the fountain in the middle of the campus really adds on to its beauty

Join a lot of clubs, you don't even need to go to all the meetings to feel involved. Go to as many sporting events as you can because that's where you can feel all of the school spirit. Don't be afraid to go to the writing center or to get tutoring, studying comes hard to many students and the staff are really helpful and give good techniques to study

The professors are always giving out good lessons. The lessons although sometimes could be dull are still very interesting to learn about. Every class I went to I never dreaded going to, the professors are so lively and try to make learning fun. They are available and willing to help. Class sizes are small , so your really get to know the professor.

Honestly, the dorms are pretty nice. I live in Manor North which is mainly a freshman dorm. Everyone is super friendly and I am friends with most of the girls on my floor. The rooms are nice and clean and pretty big, at least that's what I think. In the summer it does get a little hot in the dorms, but once a couple weeks pass, the weather starts getting cooler, and the rooms are perfect temperature. The RA's are so nice and so friendly.

The Johnson dining hall does have a lot of options to choose from. They always have pizza and fries and burgers/hot dogs. The dining hall is mainly clean and the staff are so nice and welcoming. The West Campus dining hall is not as noisy and has less choices of food, but it has a bigger salad selection. Besides the 2 main dining halls, there are other food venues that are very popular.

There are so many activities to do on campus. Every weekend they have different trips and different evening activities including: open mic nights, comedians, movies, and sporting events. There is no reason to bored or to go home on weekends.

This is a private school but priced more like public college. Great value!

Sororities and fraternities

It is a reasonably priced privite school. It has many opportunties to have fun, advance your career, and knowledge while attending. I would reccomend this school to anyone looking for a degree in science.

Come prepared to make friends! You will be able to jump into a small community where there are chances to meet someone knew everyday. There are plenty of things during orientation that help you to meet people. also the activities on campus including; greek life, campus activties board, residence life staff, help to branch someones personal and professional connections.

While some classes may seem boring and others easy, there is definitely a number of classes that will put your academic skills to the test. They are taught by professors with proffesional experience that know what it takes to get the job done. These professors offer a challenging circiculum but are also always willing to help if you need it.

Dorm life is different depending on what part of campus you're on. Within the freshman dorms, they're made to help individuals grow personally and build relationships with other students that will last through their college career. On west campus, in the upperclassmen dorms, residents get the chance to grow personal responsibility while also being able to build relationships with other residents. The resident assistants are a wonderful staff who are willing to help and guide freshmen through their first year, and also provide fun activities based on college policy.

Johnson dining hall was just re-amped with a new look and feel. It's going to be a great place to eat during the 2014-2015 academic year.

There are plenty of things to do for fun. The campus activites board is always hosting events ranging from bingo and casino nights, to guest comedians and more. There is something to do every weekend, and sometimes something to do everyday of the week. There are also local malls less than 15 minutes away for the people who love to shop. There are also plenty of fun places to eat around the city.

Every Thursday night the campus activties board hosts a thursday night movie, usually something that has come out recently. They sometimes show movies before they come out on netflix! It's also ok if you cant see the movie that Thursday, they show it again Saturday night.

It is a great place for criminal justice and nursing majors. The York hospital is across the road from the school, and the York City Police and Campus Saftey work well with students to help find internships and jobs after school.

There are plenty of clubs and organizations on campus. I'm a part of the mixed martial arts club, club lacrosse team, and the peer support network. There is something for everyone. Therer are clubs that pertain to interests such as the psychology club, spanish club, and ski and outdoor club. Some clubs even go on trips. Recently, the paintball/airsoft club went to a park and had a blast!

York is known for their Nursing program. I mainly came here because of that. I know that York isn't known for most other programs and they do not have some of the strongest programs out there. As far as nursing and engineering go, this is where to attend. If you want a good, in depth education to prepare you for working in a hospital, this is where you want to go.

As it is with a lot of colleges, there are not a lot of things to do on the weekends. York does VERY well at providing different trips and activities on the weekend. We also have a lot of things to do around the school. Every week there is a new movie that we get to see before it comes out on dvd and we have a lot of reality show contestants come to host entertainment.

As far as nursing goes, YCP is worth the money. I don't know if I would suggest a person to come here and pay all of this money if it is possible to get a similar degree at a state school. It also depends on what you want. This is a great smaller school. I believe that it is worth the money because I love the small classes and the education.

Come visit York! Get to know what is around the city. There are many different things to do here, you just have to find them. My friends and I found a great $2 movie theater. As college students, we don't have much money to go out. This is just one thing that we let other people know about. But the city is nice, other than the bad parts. Yes, there is crime. There's crime in every city. Don't let that deter you. Visit York and see what everything is about!

With the core classes, York offers you an opportunity to try new things and offers a wide variety of all types of classes. For the classes required for a major there are plenty of advisors you can go talk to with any questions and get the most out of your education.

There are so many opportunities at York, you can join a sorority or fraternity and even if that’s not for you there are clubs and other activities to get into. There are plenty of things to do surrounding the college such as the mall or local hot spots. Your defiantly meet a lot of new people and since other students at York have friendly attitudes, it is easy to do.

Not the most expensive school and not the cheapest, but your definitely getting your money’s worth by going here. And for those students who are doing it on their own it is a great price.

My favorite thing about York College is how it provides a personalized education with its smaller class sizes - and also tons of hands-on learning experiences. Because there are over a hundred clubs and organizations to get involved in, it's really easy to meet friends and stay busy. A great learning environment, friendly community, and an involved campus, all come together to give me a really awesome home away from home!

Definitely visit open houses or special program-specific days before you commit! There's a ton of fun stuff they do on these days, but you also get to see the beautiful campus yourself and meet future professors and classmates. Applying early is generally a better idea too.

Classes are challenging but not over the top. They really try to give you a well-rounded educational experience - but still have you graduated in four years time.

As a freshman you have a number of residence halls to choose from on main campus, and one option on north campus called Northside Commons. All the dorms are similar, but have some minor differences your freshman year. Your best bet is to come to an Open House, or a private visit/tour, and see for yourself. Once you're an upperclassmen you have many more styles and options for living. Anything from single dorms, apartment/suite style, to townhouses are offered at York.

The main campus dining hall was revamped only a few years ago and the food is great. The menu is constantly changing from day to day, and they accommodate any special dietary needs/wants. You can choose between several different dining plans (swipe and dining point amounts). There are two dining halls and three on campus cafes/food stops. There's also a ton of places that are very close to campus to dine at, and they all generally accept York College Flex bucks, too!

Our Campus Activities Board organization does an awesome job at providing us fun things to do during the semester. Trips to NYC, Philly, and Washington D.C happen every year. However, every week there's always things to do like Pinterest nights, Wings and Trivia, movie nights, comedians, hypnotists, the list goes on and on!

In the city of York, there is always a big celebration on the first Friday of every month with live music, food specials, boutique sales, and much more! First Fridays are anticipated by everyone at the college because they're so fun.

Considering over 90% of YCP grads are employed right out of college, and the sticker price is about half of other private institutions, I'd say you get a lot of bang for your buck.

One of the longest standing traditions at York is the signing of the rock called Old Sparty on main campus. Every graduating class gets to sign the rock immediately after walking across the stage on graduation day. Oh, and every finals week we get to pet puppies to relieve stress, so that's always awesome.

York is great for students who want to be recognized and noticed for their hard work, and not become just a face in a large lecture hall. York is also great for those who don't really know what they want to study or become yet. There are many resources and people around to help you narrow down your choice to something you're going to enjoy pursuing.

There are clubs for just about anything here, but if you happen to think of something new, it's really easy (and very encouraged) to start it on your own. Clubs can also help you build your resume with experiences and leadership roles. I'd recommend incoming students join at least one or two clubs when they come to campus.

There's over a dozen sororities and fraternities on campus, but it's not a go Greek or go home kind of school. It's there for anyone who wants to join and it's a good way to give back to communities, fund raise for charities, and meet friends.

Campus safety is on duty 24/7 and there are many protocols and measures they go to to keep our campus extremely safe. Blue lights, special apps, and patrolling officers on campus are just a few examples of these.

York has a great faculty filled with great professors. The academics have been very rewarding so far. I cannot wait to get into more classes to deepen my knowledge.

Work hard. The school is in a great place with great people. Take advantage of it.

I've been challenged this year, but I enjoy it. I cannot wait to take even more classes with knowledgable professors.

My favorite teacher stayed in my dorm complex around 1995, so the complex I'm in is a little worn, but definitely a lot better than other college's I visited my senior year. But once you become an upperclassmen there are so many other great options for you!

There is a wide variety of food all over campus, but the main dining hall can make you feel a bit scurvy until your body adjusts.

Our Campus Activities Board plans awesome events almost 2-3 times a week. So much to do off campus as well.

The tuition is very low, but you get your monies worth. It's the main reason I chose York. Great education for an affordable price.

We have a giant rock on campus that is painted green each year, and the graduating seniors get to paint their names on it.

Kids from small towns, it's fairly quiet here, or kids who want a great education.

There are TONS of clubs, one for every type of personality, major or interest.

Haven't had any run-ins, but they do their job.

York College is the perfect mix of having a small enough population that you will see familiar faces and feel like you are a part of the community, but a large enough population that there are always new people to meet. I believe my decision to attend York College has been vital to my successes during my freshman year of college. York is my second home.

College is what you make of it. If you join clubs, teams, organizations, etc., and get involved, you will meet tons of people and have great experiences. Don't be afraid to pursue the things that interest you. College is much different from high school in that, people appreciate diversity and originality; so go out there and do whatever it is that you do best.

While you do not fully realize their significance when you are deciding on which college to attend, small class sizes allow students to learn in a more intimate and productive environment. Not only that, but academics at York become easy when you have professors that are so hands on and willing to help when needed. As long as you go to class, do your assignments, and review your notes, academics at York are definitely do-able.

As an incoming freshman, most people are housed in Manor North, South, East, or West, or the Penn/Beard Complex. Some people however are housed in Northside Commons. Northside is a newer building but has a mix of freshman sophomores and sometimes even juniors; which works and is fine, but the Manors and Penn/Beard complexes are more conducive to socializing and getting to know your classmates. I lived in Northside my freshman year and I loved it, but I know I would have gotten closer with some of the people in my class if I had lived in the Manors or Penn/Beard.

There are two full dining halls on campus, along with several coffee shops, a sub shop, something equivalent to a Chipotle (burritos, quesadillas, etc.) and numerous vending machines. West Campus Commissionary, though not as large, has the best food in my opinion compared to Johnson's Dining Hall. Nearby,there is also a Chick-Fil-A, Chipotle, Panera Bread, Yorktown Pizza, and numerous other chain restaurants. Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER FRANKS PIZZERIA FOR DELIVERY because it will literally take two hours for your order to be delivered and they have terrible service.

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) always has cool things planned on campus for free, available to all students. There are always movies that have just come out being played, comedians, musicians, etc. Last year the college hosted guest speakers Mia Hamm and Maya Angelo, as well as Wiz Khalifa for our spring concert. There is a nearby ice skating rink, bowling alley, movie theatres, etc. Lancaster has a really nice mall not too far from school.

I looked at a lot of schools during my college search and York seemed to offer everything every other school did, but for less money. Not only that, but what really attracted me to York was their new/newly renovated facilities. For as old and historical as the city of York and the college is, you could never tell walking in to our Grumbacher Sports and Fitness Center, Wolf and Diehl Hall, or any building for that matter. The college is continually expanding and offering more for its students.

There is a fountain in the middle of main campus and sometimes as a prank people put soap in the fountain and it gets filled with suds.

There is a large rock at the center of campus and when you graduate, the school paints the rock green and every single graduate gets to paint their name, or something to remember them by following commencement.

York is great for student-athletes, because it provides top notch education and academic programs, as well as elite DIII NCAA regulated sports teams. The Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center is more advanced than almost all other DIII schools, and comparable if not better than most DII schools.

Everyone can fit in at York though. This school is not just great for any one type of student. Who ever you are, you can find your niche at York.

There are lots of clubs on campus, and if you cannot find one you like, you could always start your own! My favorite activities are sporting events just because it is cool to see your classmates compete. I also enjoy nights when the Campus Activities Board (CAB) hosts movies, because you can save money by seeing the film right after it is released at school for free, instead of having to go to the theatre.

While York is not a huge school and there is not a frat row type of set up among the Greek organizations, there is still a presence at York College. I am not personally involved with Greek life, but know several people who are and they all seem to enjoy it.

Overall there are not a ton of crime/safety issues that come up on campus. When/if there is, the school and campus safety do a great job of communicating the incident among the entire community to create awareness. They constantly have officers patrolling campus. Overall I feel pretty safe walking anywhere on campus.
