Angeline from Altus, OK
Live on campus your first year. is the biggest advice I could give a prospective student. Suggest you get a private room with a locking door. Living on campus allows one to become accustomed to the university quickly, as well as introduces you to a large number of could be life-long friends.
Parking isn't easy to find for students living on campus or for commuter students. That's an adjustment.

Jesse from Piedmont, OK
Make yourself known to your professor early on. They really care about your success in the class and in later life. The sooner you go and talk to them, the sooner they can let you know about research, help you in class, or write you recommendations!
Apply for housing early if you want to live on campus- UCO is a big commuter school, and housing is limited; apply early.
Look for on-campus jobs; UCO has countless jobs on-campus that pay well- from tutoring to working the IT desk.
Get involved in undergraduate research! There are always professors wanting to get some hungry undergrads to do work for them! This goes along with my first tip- make yourself known to your professors. I got to publish a paper my freshman year because my math professor was impressed with my work in class; he invited me to join his research team. This leads to several conferences and networking opportunities that undergrads simply do not get anywhere else!
