Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

Its a very affordable school with many great job and school opportunities available to you.
Jennifer from Warrensburg, MO
This past summer about 3 different residence halls got ALL new furniture, including: xl beds and mattresses, desks, and chairs. The lofts that you can rent are really nice and easy to set up. The school plans on re-furnishing the rest of the residence halls in the next few years since the cost is high to re-furnish. The largest residence hall, the one I currently reside in, also just received a new alarm system that can detect almost anything to alert the residences. And the dining hall food isn't too shabby also. And the new fitness center is huge and has a lot more available than the current Multipurpose Building and it's soon to open.
Morgan from Saint Joseph, MO
classes, food, and on-campus living is very affordable and offer a great deal. there probably isn't a better deal in the state.
Ryan from Shawnee, KS
One of the cheapest schools in missouri and the country for that matter yet they have great job placement
Robert from Independence, MO
College is expensive. There's nothing new about that. UCM balances a good college with small classes and lower prices than plenty of Missouri Universities.
Elizabeth from MO
I believe it is worth to pursue a degree here because the professors are great and it is a very supportive campus.
