It has a new nursing program, a partnership with st. elizabeths hospital.
Will enjoy being here
Seems like there are plenty of activities to do. Many new buildings.
Bang for the buck
Small SUNY school that has almost all brand new facilities. They are pretty competitive and will provide a challenge.
Great for these types of students
Hard working, willing to try new things, open minded.

SUNY Poly is a smaller, tightly knit school and on your way to class you'll see a lot of the same faces. The campus is beautiful, and the social cliques on campus are extremely friendly. Most Teachers are good at their job and will even meet you outside office hours, but some are not as good at their jobs, but they're easy to avoid.
Tips for prospective students
Bring a fan and plenty of thick blankets, it gets really warm in the beginning of the school year and VERY cold afterwards

Join the clubs, they are a really good way to make friends and find like minded people.

Make sure to have snacks or some type of food on hand, the dining hall hours are pretty strange and some days may simply be too cold to leave.
Academic Rigor
Most professors care about their students, and will meet and help them acclimate to the material, and the tutors on campus aren't all very good- but many are extremely helpful! While I cant speak for any other major, the CS dept. is filled with excellent teachers.
Dorm Life
Oriskany, Adirondack, and Mohawk residential halls are pretty nice in my opinion. The rooms and furniture are pretty consistent through all of these. They recently (2015/16), updated the internet on campus and have only had a few slow downs so far (2016/17).

Oriskany is for freshmen only, and is more like a giant apartment with 4 bathrooms per suite, it is maintained and cleaned by campus facilities so it's usually clean.

Adirondack is very open, unfortunately it only has heating and no AC; it does have heating.

Mohawk is exactly like Adirondack, only smaller and has AC.
Food and Dining
The food has been on an upturn lately, with efforts from the dining services and student suggestions boxes which are in both dining halls. Unfortunately the hours are somewhat strange on the weekends, with no hot food being served before 11am.

The Student Center dining hall usually have more variety/commercially available foods.
What to do for fun
The clubs on campus are very active and the campus has a game room on the 2nd floor of the Student center, containing ping pong, pool, air hockey, and some other things.
Bang for the buck
Comes out to ~20,000 a year for tuition and room/board. This is a lot for 1 year, with mediocre food and only half decent internet.
Clubs and Activities
Clubs are a very active part of the campus like here, and provide a lot of entertainment with game nights, movie nights, and get-togethers. The variety is astonishing, from engineering based clubs, sports, games, biology, outdoors life, and movies.
Campus Safety
the university police (UP) do a great job of maintaining a safe campus, not once have I felt in danger here.

SUNYIT is a small 4 year school, with all the benefits of a large school. you can get 1 on 1 help. You can live on campus or off campus and still be close. New lacrosse program on a brand new turf field! Yeah!
Tips for prospective students
Visit the campus ahead of time. Talk to advisers ahead of time. Get involved in school activities and sports.
Academic Rigor
SUNYIT prepares you well for getting a job during your college days and also after you graduate
Dorm Life
Dorms were very nice. I liked the community room and having 10 bedrooms all connected. It's a great way to meet people.
Food and Dining
Food is pretty good. My only comment about dining is the dining hall doesn't stay open long enough for students that are in night classes or play a sport. That was a little disappointing because if you were hungry you were out of luck since the dorms didn't have stoves.
What to do for fun
Ski bus offered in winter, sports, gym open for different types of play, a lot of campus activities year round
Bang for the buck
Excellent education for the price
Great for these types of students
The student who isn't aggressive and who would get lost in a large university.
Clubs and Activities
Sports
Greek Life
I don't believe they have them on campus. I am not involved
Campus Safety
Campus police patrol the campus all of time. Very safe

The school to me is absolutely amazing, the students there are very friendly and if you don't drive you can always pool with someone. The dorms are also amazing, it is like being in a hotel only sharing a room with your roommate and that too can be interesting. The food in the Student Center is amazing, It will have you wanting more.
Tips for prospective students
Dont worry.
Academic Rigor
The student teacher ratio is 1:1. And the teachers and advisers all have office hours and if they don't you can always email them using your SUNY IT Email.
Dorm Life
Absolutely excellent. It is like a hotel form of living.
Food and Dining
The food in the dining room is not so wonderful; but at the Student Center you can get whatever you want to eat made and it is really good.
What to do for fun
During the week there are a lot of activities to do.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
The best place on campus is the Student center. And the field house which is our gym.
Great for these types of students
Its great for every student especially those that are into computers.
Clubs and Activities
There are almost 40 clubs in the school. And the best thing about clubs is that yo can start our own lub with minimum 8 people. Really Cool.
Greek Life
There is no Greek life.
Campus Safety
The campus is absolutely safe. There are security guards on duty from Morning to night.
