What Students Are Saying
Just visit Georgetown. Once you see the campus, you will fall in love with it. And don't just look at the price and mark it off the list. Ask about scholarships and financial aid. Talk to some people who are attending the school, and see if it would be a college that works for you.
Caitlin from Florence, KY
You need to apply for as many scholarships as you can because even with the best grades, you still may come up short in tuition costs.
Lealys from Nashville, TN
Tips for prospective students are to visit the campus, go to a Georgetown event, and go on the Directions Trips that are available. First, a student should visit the campus to meet the people and also go to what we call Tiger Days to get maybe some classroom experience as well. Lastly, when you are excepted, go on a Direction trip because they are a few days to meet other freshman and make really go bonds before college starts.
Rebecca G. from Elizabethtown, KY
Don't feel shy-- staff and teachers are willing and happy to assist you in any way that you can!
Rebecca from Sadieville, KY
Dont't be afraid to ask your professor for help, that is the reason why they chose to work here.
Nicole from Upper Marlboro, MD
Get to know your professors; they can be your strongest allies. Always be nice to the custodians and cafeteria workers - they'll help you out more often than you think. And, whatever you do, go to class.
Amberlee from Lexington, KY
Work hard and don't get lazy when it comes to your work. Georgetown is challenging, but is you try and put forth the effort you will go far.
Austin from Prospect, KY
I get all questions answered in a timely fashion.
Chikara from Chicago, IL
Live on campus! You going to learn sooo much for being actively involved and living in the dorms. This is where you learn to be dependent and meet wonderful friends! Stay on campus during the weekends. There are things to do, you have to get involved.
Traci from Georgetown, KY
Visit the college. At first, it wasn't my first choice. Then I visited. It's a beautiful campus and has a very nice feel to it.
