This University has an extremely high academic level. Professors are dedicated, and provide their students with all necessary material for them to have a complete understanding of their subject.
Many classes include discussions, or online sections, that are given in addition to the typical lesson, to allow students to completely comprehend all the information taught.
Furthermore, numerous courses will also have specific tutoring classes, offered for free, to clarify any questions that students might develop throughout the semester.

Florida Atlantic University is a large College, that continues to grow each year. However, most students attending FAU are local. Therefore, there is a great sense of familiarity among people throughout the campus, which makes new and current students feel comfortable and content.
Faculty, administrators, and students are always very friendly, and willing to help.
There are always educational events taking place, which allow all people to get even more involved with the University, and become an active college student.
Bang for the buck
Florida Atlantic University is not an excessively expensive school. Considering the excellent education received from this College, and the services provided by the administration and faculty, the tuition price is not too high.
Nevertheless, scholarship opportunities are somewhat limited. It is not easy to obtain financial aid. Options are restricted, and the number of awards distributed is low.
Tips for prospective students
Any student considering Florida Atlantic University is making a great choice. At this school, you will be able to complete your actual academic objective. People at FAU are there to learn, and prepare for the future.
In terms of the college experience, there are plenty of interesting opportunities regarding clubs, organizations, or other institutions for further involvement at the University.
However, anyone that is looking for a strong college education should take time to evaluate FAU's excelled options.
Great for these types of students
FAU would be great for anyone who is determined, and wants to succeed in their college career. This school has a calm and diverse environment, which allows people to actually dedicate time to deep studying.
Additionally, Florida Atlantic University is a great option for students that live in South Florida, and want to live at their home throughout their first degrees. About three fourths of FAU are students that commute each day, from their home to campus, and back.
Nevertheless, this college could be a worthy option for anyone who is striving for a thriving future.

I feel I am learning a lot at FAU and that I am learning quickly. We have department advisors for the various fields of study to help us select our classes and ensure that we are only taking classes that are necessary for our major. I know first hand how important this is because I went to a different college for my fall term and ended up having to drop a class because I was never advised that an introduction to that course was necessary, although not required. At FAU, this is standard and it helps ensure that we do not waste our time or money. The classes are challenging, yet you know there is free lab help available should you need it. The professors are great at passing on their knowledge to us and they interact well with the students. The professors that I’ve had so far seem to really enjoy what they are doing and that makes for a better learning environment for us students.

FAU is the perfect mix of learning and fun. We all have to be responsible for getting ourselves to class and absorb and retain the days lessons. When the classes are done, however, the fun begins. Dorm life is awesome and there’s plenty to do around here. The students are friendly and fun-loving. We all take care of each other and are a close-knit community. The professors seem to enjoy their work and are very helpful. The gym is free and open until late so even those of us who work can get our workouts in. The cafeteria services are great; the food is fresh and it’s open until about 10:30 pm for dinner, which means we can still get real food instead of cold, pre-packaged sandwiches or snacks from our dorms. We have our own little town on campus with many conveniences--yes, even a fast-food court for those who miss being back home. When we went to get out, though, the big city is just a street light away with hordes of activities and amenities, including some of the most beautiful beaches.
Bang for the buck
A university education does not comes cheap, but FAU is well worth the money. It is a renown leader in many fields and students leave here well-prepared for their careers. Due to their top-quality education, FAU graduates are more likely to start earning top pay in their fields just out of college.
Tips for prospective students
Bring late-night snacks and plenty to share--there are always friends around to keep you company. Bring a bike or other means of getting around campus, because it is large. In sunny Boca, you’ll get a work-out just getting to your classes.

Great for these types of students
FAU is great for ambitious, self-motivated students who want to get the most out of their careers and life in general.

You can tell that Florida Atlantic University really cares for their students, because the staff they have hired to teach, are very determined to make sure, that we succeed in whatever we would like to do. The staff is very friendly, and they give me a feeling that they are really there to help, instead of just wanting to be there, because they have to. Plus they have a plethora of programs for students who would like to learn more, or challenge themselves. For example, there is the University Scholars Program which a program that provides students with exceptional and rewarding learning opportunities through special honors seminars, giving each student special advising.

FAU would be the college you would have fun at, because after all the classes, and studying, You can go to beach, and take a little break from the college life. The beaches from FAU, are just a few miles away, along with the city life. Plus, FAU, have many student activities, and clubs, so if you would like to get involve, that would be no problem.
Bang for the buck
FAU, is the least expensive school in florida, beside a community college. Scholarships are available, but they are arduous to receive. For example, you have to have this many hours, and this kind of major, in order to get certain scholarships. There are no easy ones, but if you work hard, and meet those certain requirements, that scholarship will be hand delivered to you.
Tips for prospective students
For prospective students, FAU, is a optional school. What I mean, is that FAU, give you so many options. For example, if you are a local student, who just live thirty minutes away from this university, this school is perfect for that person. If you are a out of state student who is looking for a traditional university experience, this college also fits that person. FAU, serves many people wants. It doesn't matter who you are, or where you live. FAU, will still be the college that will fit you.
Great for these types of students
FAU is great for students who are looking for a school that has diversity. FAU is widely diverse. If a student would like to get to know more cultures, outside of its own, this is the college for them. FAU, is great for these types of students.

I've been in the college of engineering, college of business, and now, the college of design and social inquiry. The curriculum is all about applications and examples and how to's so when you're reading the text, you know when to use which information. Engineering is very cut and dry. You MUST be prepared to spend night after night studying, practicing, and reviewing. I have taken classes from every college, from history of earth and life to world politics to international economics to surveying. After every class session I would have to call or text someone and tell them what I learned. So much information in your head in one class time you think your head is going to explode.

Can't complain about the 350 days of sunshine, or the fact that Miami is half an hour away to satisfy all your party needs, or the fact that the bahamas is $140 plane ticket and a 35 minute ride. The best diving, snorkeling, surfing, and best lookin people are within a 45 minute radius drive from Boca Raton. If you love being outside, this is the place. Of course, there is a mall about every 20 miles, so there is no shortage of shopping. Absolutely none. Everything designer is right here. Oh, and when people have house parties, they're in mansions, not houses. Big outdoorsy community here. Boating, fishing, surfing, diving, eating, drinking. Oh, some of the best cuisine - they've got everything. Indian, authentic Japanese, Chinese, Thai, genuine Italian gelato, Italian, authentic Cuban, everything is delicious. You won't go to a chain restaurant here, I promise you.
Bang for the buck
FAU itself is very reasonable. If you live off campus (which I recommend after freshmore year), do so. FAU does not charge a million different fees. The parking permits are free, but don't dare park illegally. They're too quick. Boca Raton is an expensive city - gas is expensive here (comparably), clothes and jewelry and all of that glitz is expensive. The best bang for the buck are these hole in the wall food places that immigrants own - they're the best. I don't know anyone that goes to a chain restaurant. There's a local sushi place that gets FLOODED with FAU students on Friday and Saturday nights. Car insurance is cheap in this city for some reason. Rent is a little ridiculous. I come from tampa, and I could get a beautiful remodeled apartment for $750. $750 in Boca Raton is the hood. I mean not a nice area at all. Your average 1 bedroom in a nice area can run from $850 to over $1000. Get a roommate.
Tips for prospective students
Wherever you come from, live on campus your first year. I didn't have the advantage of living in the dorms as I transferred as a junior.
Be friends with upperclassmen. Trust me. There is nothing to do for the U21 scene - except house parties, and those get old. A lot of clubs are 21+, and they're good at spotting fakes.
Talk to EVERYONE in your class, the freshmen, the seniors, and the older students. I wish I hadn't been so shy my first year, it would be a lot easier for me to network now if I had been more outgoing.
Greek life rules! Get involved. It's a very long but rewarding process and even if you don't think Greek is for you, at least go to the info session. You might be surprised

Barry Kaye College of Business is ranked in US News as one of the best business colleges (top 100), so Accounting, Business Admin, International Business, Economics, and related, all great

Also, education program here is great.
Pre-Pharm, Pre-Law, and Pre-Med are also all great because of FAUs agreement with UM.
However, FAU will be getting its own medical school in a year or two. Worth looking into.

Psychology program is also on the up and up.
And finally,

OCEAN ENGINEERING! FAU IS WORLD RENOWNED FOR ITS OCEAN ENGINEERING PROGRAM!

the professors and their possible assistants are very helpful and prove the students with office hours and personal email addresses that they are able to be contacted at any given time. the library, which is three stories high, is available from early in the morning to late at night, in convenience of all students. the study groups and si sessions are also very helpful, especially if you missed class and around finals. there are various resources and tools that are readily available for everyone in order to have a greater learning experience.
Am enjoying being here
I love FAU and I love attending FAU. I'm not just saying that either. I got accepted into five other schools around across Florida, but I visited FAU twice my senior year and knew that I had to go to this school. The other students are so friendly and helpful, the professors I've had so far are also helpful, especially when asking for directions. The cafeteria is open throughout the day, where fresh and delicious food is made from veggies to pizza to lasagna to chicken to anything your heart desires. Not to mention there is a food court with some familiar restaurants that are also available to us so we won't have to eat the noodles and cold spaghetti like other college kids you may or may not have heard about. Boca Raton is a beautiful town, the people outside of FAU community are very gregarious, the mall is huge, and the beach is amazing. Not to mention were not to far from I-95 so when I want to travel it's not that big of an issue. So yeah, I enjoy going to Florida Atlantic University.
Bang for the buck
not only is fau a public school, but they are also very affordable. two of the main aspects i was in search for when choosing the right college for me. financial aid and other scholarships are available to students. there is also a financial aid office on campus with staff that will help guide students on how to get money to pay for school. i think that everything is affordable, from the cost to attend to the cost to get at a buffet on campus to buying scantrons, which, by the way are only 35 cents. not only that but fees include use of the gym, riding the palm tran for free, free wifi and other things. as long as you complete your fafsa, and apply to scholarships and apply yourself there should be no problems.
Tips for prospective students
be responsible, be punctual, be driven, be open, be a scholar, be organized, be ready to have wonderful college experiences, be ready to stay up to study for test, be ready to be more mature, be ready to become a owl...good luck!
Great for these types of students
great for students who want new experiences, chances to travel abroad, who are open to having a good time and still be on top of their assignments and great for students who really want to learn more and gain better knowledge on their major(s).

The teachers are really good. They really care about there students and want them to do well. They have tons of resources around campus to help out the students.
Am enjoying being here
I really like the school. There is always something to do. There is something for everyone here. Although during the summer months different things are closed but there is still a ton of things to do.
Bang for the buck
Take advantage of things on campus and get what you are paying for. There are so many things that you pay for in your tuition that you might as well get what you paid for. And one of the best school's cost wise, in the state of Florida, which is great especially if you are a resident.
Tips for prospective students
Just be ready to work and stay focused. Get involved in the different things on campus and also focus and get your work done. If you are doing the summer session, you really want to be focused because you do a lot in a short amount of time and if you miss one class, it is just like missing a week. Go to class. You pay for it and there is no need to let it go to waste.
Great for these types of students
This school is great for all kinds of students. There are a lot of students but the school still has a small school feel. They are growing and opening tons of opportunities. It is great for students who are going to take advantage of the things around them. As well it helps if students like the hot weather because it is hot majority of the year.

Throughout high school your teachers always tell you that the give you so much work and try to grade hardly, because college you are all on your own and your professors will not care about you. At Florida Atlantic University I have found the complete opposite of this to be true. This university has made it possible for me to learn so much more than I though I could have, and provided me with many resources on furthering my learning and giving me help when I need it. My professors all are there when I need help during office hours, and the school provides many SI sessions and other tutor sessions completely free that help me in very many ways.
Am enjoying being here
Many universities only offer activities such as football games and such on the weekens, and for some school you'll get lucky if you're one of the few who gets a student ticket for the game. But, this univeristy has offered so many free events to the students almost everyday of the week that I am always finding something to do. They also offer free admission to all home games, and free transportation while the building of the new stadium is in process. (Which is going to be awesome). There are tons of clubs to join, the gym is free, there's a pool to lounge in, and tons of other ways to connect and make friends here.
Bang for the buck
In my opinion, I thought my first year of college was going to rob me of my money. But, after seeing how many scholarship oppurtunities and grants that the school offered, it gave great relief. Although I still had to take out student loans, if you just put in the effort and apply for as many scholarships as you can, you're bound to get at least one. Since this school is also public, it's a little cheaper than a lot of other schools.

Will learn a lot
I plan to attend the FAU honors program, Wilkes, this spring. It is located in Jupiter and has a beautiful campus. However, a large deciding factor for me is that Scripps Laboratories, located on campus, offers numerous internships throughout your college experience. So you will not only learn a lot form the wonderful and qualified professors, but you will also gain hands on experience.
Will enjoy being here
Wilkes offers some amazing comforts. For instance they have their own cafeteria which serves their students, all of which are on the dining plan; however, best of all, each person has their own room and only shares a dorm suite. Additionally, it is a small campus and everybody is very nice and approachable.
Bang for the buck
Wilkes' top rate professors combined with the internships offered at Scripps Laboratories provides a very commensurate trade for your money.
Great for these types of students
Wilkes is the perfect school for anyone who is a science major and likes small campuses. It is also has a, from what I've heard, an excellent and guaranteed path to medical school.

FAU has many different types of classes. There are many different classes to take with a variety of majors. They have tutors available to help you as well if you need extra help. FAU is a great school. There are classes online as well as in the classroom. Some teachers give you homework online as well, which is really helpful.

There are many different things to do at FAU. There are many different clubs, fraternities, and sororities here. There are a variety of students that go here as well. There are lots of activities to do at school and FAU is located by shopping centers and a mall too if you have spare time.
Bang for the buck
FAU is one of the less expensive universities.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure that you study a lot. It is very important. Also, if tutoring or extra help is available online or in the classroom, you should definately take the opportunity to do it. Also, you should make sure that you take a variety of classes your first semester and try not to slack off because it will be harder for you if you mess up your first semester.

I am a Music Education Major at Florida Atlantic University. I have performed with a majority of the ensembles and enjoyed my experiance and my professors as well. The school itself is small when it comes to its image but the school has great teachers and a nice quiet campus. If you enjoy a quieter community when it comes to learning Florida Atlantic University could be the place for you. Go Owls. :D
Am enjoying being here
The people on campus keep to their prospective Majors primarily so if you are a Music Major you will primarily be around music oriented people except in genral education classes. Not to say you won't see other people as well.
Bang for the buck
Florida Atlantic's classes are some of the least expensive in Florida. My monthly tuition is significantly cheaper then the other schools nearby.
Tips for prospective students
Remember wherever you decide to go your education is based off of your own drive to study and do well. My advice is to really pick a field of study you enjoy so at least your happy with what your doing and you will want to go to school. It has worked for me so far.
Great for these types of students
People who like smaller classrooms, Quiet campus(communter school), The beach is about ten minutes away, consistent weather and professors that are generally fun and effective.
