Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

It is an expensive school because it is private but because it is private they are able to give out a lot more scholarships which make it almost the same as a public school. It's also good if your from out of state because its the same cost as instate tuition. The education and personal attention, not to mention fun, you're getting makes the price worth it.
Ashley from Waterford, MI
Being on the most prestigeous schools in MIchigan i consder my education worth what i have been paying for. In most classes i am one of twenty kids and the attention and level of difficulty of classes was hard and still is. However, every profesor pushes you to strive for your personal best and I think it's worth it. 100%!
Alexis from Clinton Twp, MI
The main downfall of many small, private colleges is the cost. At Albion, however, they realize this and give you many opportunities for scholarships. There are academic scholarships that everyone receives depending on GPA in college etc. Personally, I had a 4.0 in high school and I received $17,000 in academic scholarships. With only this scholarship (not including any other personal or need-based scholarships), the Albion experience has a lot of bang for the buck. The quality of the education there and the many opportunities on campus overshadow any negative aspects of the college.
Katlyn from Livonia, MI
QUITE expensive. Don't attend unless you're sure you can pay this much. But I came here because I knew that it would good for me to be in such an open atmosphere where the students know you by name, as long as you introduce yourself!
Michael from Alpena, MI
Expensive but if you can make it work, it will be worth it
Isaac from Quincy, MI
You get rewarded for every cent that you put into paying for this college.
