Will learn a lot | The teachers and ambassadors know what they are talking about. I've never been in a place where everyone knows everything about how to survive. No one has been left in the dark. |
Will enjoy being here | They have two different kinds of housing for different kinds of people. What ever your needs are, they have the housing for it and they have payment plans. If you have any questions, the housing staff are always ready to answer your questions. |
Bang for the buck | Might I say, that you are going to get the best teaching out of this school. They have fantastic professors who (at Freshman Orientation) give you their phone numbers and e-mails so that you can talk with them and settle any problems you may be having. |
Tips for prospective students | Go visit the campus! Your deciding moment will be to walk on that campus. Then sign up for Freshman Orientation, they will then tell you all you need to know and get you signed up for classes right then and there and tell you how to do it in the future. |
Great for these types of students | All types! I've met kids from freshman orientation who are sporty, scientific, mathematical, and musical. It's fit for all types of students. |

Am learning a lot | Unlike a lot of the big name universities, the teachers are actually here, teaching the courses--not some student teacher. They care about their subjects with a passion, which is why they do it. That passion transfers to the students. I never dreamed I would learn as much as I have at Weber, and I am forever indebted to the teachers here. |
Am enjoying being here | They have a TON of on campus activities, including dances, parties, a bowling alley, pool hall, movie theater, plays, bands, and countless other performances. Not only that, but the people are really nice. They're quiet at the beginning of the semester, focusing on their studies. But once everyone gets into the swing of things, you can constantly find people scattered around campus just relaxing and chatting. |
Bang for the buck | Weber is amazing at the price. Being a public school, tuition is only about $5,000 a year. For that, you get classes, access to the three-story library and computer terminals all over campus, a free UTA bus pass good for bus, Frontrunner, TRAX, and anything else UTA, access to the school shuttle, and all of the rockin' activities the school offers. I don't know how they do so much on such funds, but Weber definitely packs a powerful bang for your buck. |
Tips for prospective students | Get involved. It's the only way to have fun. They have a club for EVERYTHING. From ballroom to anime to martial arts and beyond, there's nothing that can't entertain you on campus. Also, get to know your professors. I recommend dropping by their offices in the first three weeks of class, at least those you plan to work hard for. They're bored during that time anyways, and it'll make you stand out to go say hello and try to get a feel for their class. |
Great for these types of students | Weber is great for all sorts of people. I've seen high school kids and 60+ year olds in my classes. The majority of people on campus are commuters, but they do have on-campus housing options. Weber is great for those who want to learn but don't have a lot to spend. It is definitely not a party school, though; no drugs and alcohol allowed on campus, and you will actually learn something. |

In three sentences | Weber State has been an excellent and affordable school for those seeking a higher education. It is a place where one can study and feel safe from many of the problems plaguing our society. It is also a place where each student can enter the pathway to success. |
Tips for prospective students | Just because Weber State is cheaper than other universities in the surrounding area, I highly recommend putting the time to study for each class and set time aside to be able to complete the homework assignments. All of the professors I have had there so far have been excellent and have helped me learn so much more about the subjects they taught. Quite basically, anyone can get what they need from each course if they just work for it. Just as a tip for those who are considering Weber State, I recommend taking some general classes to ease into life at Weber State. |
Academic Rigor | Depending on the major you choose, the classes can become quite tough. It all depends on the professor, but I recommend taking general education classes first to avoid being overwhelmed. Once you have picked out your major, don't load your schedule with just classes for your major, but take a couple of electives that you will need or a couple of general ed classes with your required classes in order to have a variety of classes each semester. |
Food and Dining | I honestly didn't eat much there since I live in the area, but the times I did eat there, I was satisfied with the options they had available. They have a variety of different restaurants which serve: sub sandwiches, sushi, mexican dishes, pizza/pasta, etc which are all good. |
What to do for fun | There are a lot of hikes in the area which are fun when it is warm. Weber State also rents out equipment for kayaking, boating, rock climbing and an assortment of other activities. |
Campus Safety | I can honestly say that I have always felt safe at Weber State. I hear the unfortunate events that happen in other parts of the country, but I feel that the officers there are doing their best and that I don't have to watch my back for the worst case scenario. Plus, Weber State has practice drills once a semester for those who would like to know what to do in a dangerous situation. |

Will learn a lot | I am hoping I will learn a lot at Weber because when I went on ratemyprofessors.com I read excellent reviews on my possible professors for my major! |
Will enjoy being here | I know I will enjoy being at Weber because I have been to the campus several times before, and the campus is beautiful. |
Bang for the buck | I looked over the in-state and out-of-state tuition for Weber I added the totals up for 1 year and then multiplied it by 4 to see what my total cost would be and it was cheaper than the others schools i was loking at. (when adding up the tuition cost i used the highest amount that they say might be charged) |

Am learning a lot | I love the teachers here! They really try and reach out to the students and help them with what they need and beyond. By them caring and helping me out with problems or questions I have, I have learned a lot more than I expected I would. It's easy to email the teacher as all of your teachers emails are given to you. It's easy to know what assignments are due because the teachers are very clear and they give you an organized syllabus. |
Am enjoying being here | I love the way the school is set up and the whole environment. It's a beautiful campus and I love going to Weber. I currently live at home and I was given a free bus pass from Weber so I ride the buses for free to and from Weber. They also have a front runner that can take students from other cities to Ogden and they have a bus that will run them straight up to Weber State University. It's just a very convenient school for everyone. |
Bang for the buck | Weber is probably the most affordable school around. It lets basically everyone in and gives thousands of scholarships out every year! They also work with you and let you know what's out there. There are ways to get a percentage off of tuition as well! Clubs, index scores, GPA, and more will help pay for your tuition! |

Am learning a lot | I absolutely love my classes at Weber State. I have learned so much in the three semesters that I have been here. The class sizes are perfect! I feel like everyone gets the one-on-one time that they need in order to do well in the class. All of my professors know me by name and I feel very comfortable asking them questions. It is definitely a great learning environment. |
Am enjoying being here | The campus is fantastic! It really is a beautiful place with a lot of cool things to do and see. There is something for everyone! Weber has teams and clubs for all interests. It also has a lot of cool classes. Last semester, I took a jogging class and a rock climbing class. I had a blast, learned a lot, and made a lot of new friends! |
Bang for the buck | I feel like the student fees and tuition seem to go a long way. Each student gets an Ed pass with their enrollment. This pass allows them to travel on the public transportation system (UTA) for free. I have used that a ton. The computer labs at the school are very up to date and are very convenient. There are quite a few activities that go on at the school that are free because of student fees. The buildings that the classrooms are in are really nice and well kept. The campus is beautiful. The education itself is really great! I have learned a lot here. I would say that you do get a bang for your buck. |
Tips for prospective students | Look for opportunities to get involved! This is a great way to meet people and to enrich your experience at Weber State. Find something you are interested in and go for it! |
Great for these types of students | I think that there is something for everyone at Weber. It's great for people that are looking for a more personal one-on-one educational experience in the classroom. |

Am learning a lot | I have been taking Concurrent Enrollment classes through my high school from Weber State. My Instructor has been knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant to work with. I will take the skills learned from these classes and apply them in my life! |
Am enjoying being here | I've grown up doing things on campus and experiencing Weber State as a University. I have loved it since I was little, and my love has only grown over the years as I have learned what Weber can offer! |
Bang for the buck | As my hometown University, it's kind of always been decided where I will go to school. I have explored other options, but I always come back to the affordability and ease of Weber State. |
Tips for prospective students | Be prepared and willing to work hard and you'll do great! I love WSU! |
Great for these types of students | Looking for affordability and fun while being able to create and develop your lifestyle? Come to Weber and learn about yourself while developing usable life skills! |

Am learning a lot | I really learn a lot in my classes. The teachers teach at a rate that everyone can keep up with, and they teach the material in a way that is easy to understand. If anyone has questions, they can feel free to ask the teachers. |
Am enjoying being here | I really enjoy my classes and the people in them. I also enjoy walking around the campus on nice days and sometimes feed the ducks at the pond. When I first started school here, I knew very few people here, but now I've made friends and see more people I know. |
Bang for the buck | When you get accepted to Weber, they automatically sign you up for any academic scholarships you qualify for. I got a scholarship that paid for half of my tuition. I also filled out FAFSA and got a pell grant that paid for the other half of tuition. |
Tips for prospective students | Visit campus and find where your classes will be before the semester starts so you don't get lost your first week. Also, finding parking during the semester is very difficult and you need a parking permit. You can get a free UTA Bus Pass with your Wildcard and I found taking the bus to be much more convenient than driving. Also, there are lots of hills and stairs, so be prepared for that. |
Great for these types of students | It's a great school for anyone and everyone. There are many different classes and clubs, you can even make your own clubs. There are lots of things you can do. |

In three sentences | Weber State is fantastic! The professors teach the classes, rather than adjunct professors or graduate students. The professors are knowledgeable and down to earth, they schedule times to readily be able to meet with students who are in need of additional mentoring or assistance. |
Tips for prospective students | Join a club or organization as a way to feel more involved and to get to know more peers. Use the student services that are available - and know what is available! There are peer mentoring programs, stress centers, we have a gym, places where you can print for free! There are many resources, use them. |
Academic Rigor | The majority of professors that I have had require heavy reading for their courses. The material is interesting and informative though, it is well worth the time and effort. |
Dorm Life | I haven't experienced the dorm life, however my friend did and she didn't have great roommates. The dorms themselves, however, are well-maintained. |
Food and Dining | The campus food is amazing and fairly cheap! There are also many restaurants and grocery stores nearby that a student could also walk to or drive to. |
What to do for fun | The school has lots of activities throughout the school year, different organizations have different options. The school gym has a climbing wall which is a blast! There is a religious institute building and they have a lot of game nights, movie nights and dances that are fun to attend, too. |
Bang for the buck | Definitely worth the tuition if you use the available resources the school offers. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | We don't have any unusual or uncomfortable traditions, the school is safe and friendly to all ages. The Dee Events Center and Skating Rink are the only locations on campus that can be unusual if you don't know where they are. They are down the road and not actually on campus, though you would expect them to be. |

In three sentences | I love Weber State!!! The teachers are extremely caring and are willing to help you with anything in order to help you succeed. I was extremely worried about attending my first year of college, but from the moment I got there I have felt excited about continuing my education at this university. |
Tips for prospective students | Take AP and CE credit classes! Not only do they save you time and money but they also prepare you well for your college courses. I worried that I wouldn't be ready for the rigor of my college courses, but I feel that my previous AP and CE courses have prepared me really well. |
Academic Rigor | Weber State University is a school that is set up to help you succeed. |
Dorm Life | I don't know about the Dorm Life. I do not live in a dorm. |
Food and Dining | Wide range of food and restaurant choices. The food is good and actually isn't too pricey. The only thing that seems to be a bit pricey are their salads. |
What to do for fun | They are seriously hundreds of clubs at Weber State University for you to choose from! They range from sports, to service, to activities. At the beginning of the year, there is a giant club introduction event that occurs in the quad! This will introduce you to a whole bunch of the different clubs offered. |
Bang for the buck | It's a great school where you can get a great education and earn a degree of your choice without spending an arm and a leg to do so. It's tuition isn't really pricey. |
Clubs and Activities | There are so many fun clubs and activities offered! Don't miss out on the club introduction in the quad at the beginning of each year! |
Campus Safety | Has a code purple system set in place to help quickly and thoroughly alert people to any kind of security problem or weather condition which is nice. You can get it sent to your email or your cell phone--whichever you please. |
