Washington College

Chestertown, MD, USA

The first school chartered after the American Revolution, Washington College is a 4-year liberal arts college on Maryland’s eastern shore. WC grants bachelor’s degrees in 34 academic fields of study and all students are required to complete four writing experiences, culminating in a Senior Capstone Experience. Located along the shores of the Chester River, Washington’s River and Field Campus functions as an outdoor ecological lab for students and faculty. Only at WC do students use the Chester River as a study lounge. When it’s time for a break you can feed the ducks or go kayaking with your friends.

  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. Anastasia from Jackson, NJ
Washington College is a small liberal arts college in a small town with unbelievably big opportunities. After being here for only two months, I already feel right at home, and I've become involved in so much within such a short span. The professors and administration are some of the brightest, most admirable people I have ever met, and I feel inspired each and every day; I wouldn't rather be anywhere else.
Alexandra from Narvon, PA
WAC truly cares for its students. Despite the small size, a student can find programs that suit their interests. The professors also go out of their way and make it their top priority to help the students in any way that they can.
