Am learning a lot | Whitewater has a great environment for learning. Class sizes can range from a small number of students to a lecture hall but you are usually able to find classes where you can choose whether or not you want a small or large class size. Most professors know their subjects really well. Occasionally you will come across some who teach a class that is not their specialty and then it is hard to learn because they don’t know what they are talking about. But in general, the professors at Whitewater are very competent and try to be as helpful as they can if a student does not understand something. |
Am enjoying being here | Whitewater has a great campus. It is very open and spacious. It takes no more than 15 minutes to walk across campus. Off campus, there is not that much to do unless you are 21. Then you can go to the bars. There is a movie theater and bowling alley off campus. There is a lot to do on campus. The University Center has a movie theater where a different movie plays every weekend for only $1. Every Thursday night different comedians and bands come in to entertain students in the UC. There is also a medium sized bowling alley where students can bowl for $3. If you live in the dorms, programs are put on every week to entertain students. |
Bang for the buck | The tuition for Whitewater is pretty reasonable. You generally do not have to pay for books because there is a rental system available for students. The pricing for the food isn't that great considering the quality of the food, but it is getting better. |
Tips for prospective students | If you are seriously considering Whitewater, I would suggest spending a day on campus before you enroll to make sure that the campus and school environment is a fit for you. You should also check out professors online before signing up for their classes. The reviews you find usually give good insight on the teaching and grading style of a professor. |
Great for these types of students | Whitewater is a great school if you are interested in studying anything in the business area. |

Am learning a lot | The campus is focused on teaching you the skills you need to get a job. The focus is always looking forward to what you can use. Many of the college of business professors maintain employment outside of the university to stay current with industry standards and practices. This is VERY helpful. |
Am enjoying being here | A lot of students go home on the weekends. Unless you are 21, there isn't much legal entertainment to do off campus. Milwaukee and Madison are less than an hour away though. |

Am learning a lot | At Whitewater, I have learned many things in each of my classes that I truly believe I can actually carry with me for the rest of my life. The classes I've taken for my major have helped me to learn what I need to learn in order to be successful in my future. I have not heard of any other college that prepares their students more than the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater does. I have learned more than I ever imagined I would. |
Am enjoying being here | I thoroughly enjoy being here. My fellow peers are always around for help with my homework or just to be there as a friend. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I've always found something to do with my time, whether it be bowling, pool, air hockey, or just hanging out with my friends. There's no place I'd rather be. |
Bang for the buck | Whitewater is one of the cheapest all around university schools in Wisconsin. You get the most for your money and it is very well spent. The meal plans are one of the cheapest and you get so many choices to choose from. The tuition is one of the lowest as well. Whitewater provides so many opportunities for the students like complex parties, comedians, or live bands which are all under $5 if not free. |

Am learning a lot | I'm a music education major, and I feel my professors could answer any question I have in a way I could understand it and get the most out of their answer. All of my professors, not just in the music department, are very conscientious, professional, but also relatable. |
Am enjoying being here | I love the campus! Everyone is so down to earth and friendly. I loved my first week here- the freshman orientation was amazing! Everyone was really geared to helping the incoming students! Because the campus is so small, everything and everyone feels close-knit. I see people I know all the time walking to class! Classes are small, too. No more than 30 kids, except maybe in the GenEd classes, but I'm sure it wouldn't surpass 50. |
Bang for the buck | Like any UW school, it's pretty reasonable. I only wish the school offered more scholarships. |
Tips for prospective students | Tour the campus. A lot of people don't like the secluded country feel of the Whitewater campus, even though I personally love it. Madison and Milwaukee are close by, but not walking distance! Visit the departments you think you will be studying in for your major. Remember: Whitewater is a great school for business, education, and special needs, but that doesn't mean you can only major in those subjects! Like any college, all of the departments have to be strong, so check them out! That's why they have tour days almost every month! |
Great for these types of students | Anyone who wants to attend an amazing school and experience how great college life is! |

Am learning a lot | I have personally never learned so much in my life. This school is an amazing place to learn, no matter where you are in the campus. The classes are amazing, my personal favorite this past semester being Astronomy 101, I learned so many incredible facts in this class, and I had a lot of fun just taking it too. But lets face it, I didn't learn everything in the classes. A lot of what I learned also took place outside of the class room. When I became involved in activities all over the campus and really worked at all of them, I began to improve on my time management skills, communication skills, and plainly: my people skills. When you go out to get active and get involved in this campus, I guarantee you that you will learn a lot more than you could in any class room. And let me tell you, Whitewater is an amazing campus to learn, both in and out of the class room!! |
Am enjoying being here | I personally love this campus. I think that it is quite eye appealing at first and then when you come here to attend the college, you'll begin to love it even more. First of all, the campus is amazing, its not too big, but its defiantly not too small either. I love all the buildings, some of them might just blow you away at how technological they are, Hyland Hall. The campus offers so much as well. I love getting involved and being active in everything the campus has to offer. My days never have any lulls in them, they are always consistently filled with fun stuff to do. Dorm life is also quite exciting, I have made so many friends on my floor and we do so many exciting things with each other here on campus. If you want to have fun and learn a lot at college, this is defiantly the place for you. |
Bang for the buck | Unfortunately for me, I don't have loads of money to pay for college. It's quite hard for me to be able to pay for this college. I work full time during the summer, part-time during school, and I am still coming up short. When this school is compared to other schools, I would say that it is somewhere around the middle in costs of attending. Non-the-less, this is a great school and is completely worth every penny. |
Tips for prospective students | If you are on the fence about coming to this school or another business school, I would highly recommend checking out this schools awards for being one of the top ranked business school in the United States. I was completely unaware of how amazing this school was in the Business industry until I was already applied. I beleive that this school is the best choice for anyone who wishes to become a business major. This school offers so much, and trust me, the things you can do in Whitewater are incredible, there are so many opportunities to be had. Don't let this school slip away from your sights, it is an amazing school that is worth your while. |
Great for these types of students | This school is great for over achievers, people who want to be involved, or just anyone who want to attend an amazing college. This school is known for its Business degrees, but it also has a lot to offer in the education and theatrics departments. |

In three sentences | Very good education and excellent, hands on teachers. Small campus with a large campus feel. Lots of places for study and play--you should not be bored on this campus! |
Tips for prospective students | Go to class! Showing up does wonders for your GPA. If you start out with good grades, they are easier to keep up than trying to dig yourself out of a hole |
Academic Rigor | Classes are not overly taxing, but if you do not study you will not do well. Again, going to class helps a lot! |
Dorm Life | Everyone is friendly and no one is placed by major or age. You get to meet all sorts of people from every walk of life imaginable! |
Food and Dining | Some of the on-campus dining sites aren't good, but if you are willing to walk a little farther there are brand new dining halls and excellent off campus dining options! |
What to do for fun | Check with your RA's for fun on campus stuff! Or, simply walk around. Eventually, you'll run into people doing something interesting and you can just join in! |
Bang for the buck | Great education and environment for the price you are paying. I love it here and you won't worry as much about your wallet. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | Whitewater is shrouded in the paranormal. With the Witches Tower to the Esker graveyard, sight seeing and mystery are abound! |
Great for these types of students | Excellent business school! One of the best in the nation. So if you are thinking about accounting, finance, or general business, Whitewater is the place for you! |
Clubs and Activities | If there isn't already a club or activity that you want, simply make it yourself. It's easy and fun! |
Greek Life | Decent greek life, but the campus doesn't solely focus on what they do. It's more about the students as a whole, not those few in frats and sororities. |
Campus Safety | The police are excellent without being too much of buzz killers. I feel safe walking around campus at any hour and their is always people on duty to walk you where ever if you are afraid or lonely! |

Am learning a lot | Whitewater definitely offers a great curriculum! The introduction classes even offer a great deal of information and really get in depth with the subject you're studying. The professors are very approachable and any questions you have will definitely be answered. Class sizes are relatively small so you have a chance to get to know your professor and you're not just a number! |
Am enjoying being here | I absolutely love Whitewater! The campus is relatively small so it's real easy to get around. Most buildings are only a five to ten minute walk- not bad at all! We have a good amount of restaurants on campus too so eating healthy and having a good amount of choices is never an issue! We're also ranked number 2 in D3 football....who wouldn't like to watch such a great team! Weekends can be kind of dull around here if you're not 21 but there's always something going on somewhere. |
Bang for the buck | College is expensive so you want to find a college that really gives you the bang for the buck. I think Whitewater is that school. One of the main reasons why I love Whitewater is that there is free printing! You don't have to pay to print off things and you don't even need to supply paper. You can leave your printers at home and save a lot of money because you're not buying a ton of ink or paper. I also love the fact that we have textbook rental. You don't have to buy your books! You have the choice to, but it's not necessary. Friends from other schools had to dish out at least a grand or so for their books, I didn't have to pay a thing! |
Tips for prospective students | Come visit campus! There's always tour groups going around campus. These tours offer a ton of information about campus and the school itself so you can see if it's the right school for you! Check out the website ---> www.uww.edu |
Great for these types of students | Whitewater is perfect for students who want a great college experience. There's no doubt that you'll have a fun, educational time here. |

In three sentences | The campus in my opinion is very big and nice. Meeting some of the students they say that it is a great school, that it has helped them a lot, and they really love it. There are also a plethora of people, things to do, opportunity to run into new experiences. |
Tips for prospective students | Do a lot of research. Visit the campus. Ask current students questions. Just find out a lot about it. |
Academic Rigor | I think their academic rigor is very high. A few of my best high school teachers attended Whitewater, and they seem very intelligent. |
Dorm Life | From what I heard, it's pretty much not going to be the same experience for everyone. Some people dislike their roommate, and some are the best of friends. The dorms them self are pretty nice, but they are very very small. |
Food and Dining | When I ate there the food was very good, and they had many different food choices and drinks to choose from. |
What to do for fun | They have many things like clubs, sororities, fraternities, sport teams, movies. Many many different things. |
Bang for the buck | Yes because overall this school seems very impressive for a low price compared to other colleges offering the same things. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | They paint the road purple, and have this awesome and fun filled freshman event. |
Great for these types of students | It's great for all types of students. |
accepted here and planning to attend soon

In three sentences | The University Of Wisconsin- Whitewater to me is the best school in the state of Wisconsin. Whitewater has the best business program then any college in the state of Wisconsin. Whitewater is also a place were the people is friendly and it also has a nice and clam atmosphere for college students and people who want the best place to raise a family. |
Tips for prospective students | Remember to always stay on top of your academic and when you have that done then join organizations and have fun. |
Academic Rigor | Everyone wants the best for you when it comes up to academic. professor has special hours when students can come for help or you can e-mail them if you cant come during those hours and ask for other hours that you can come and meet with them with a problem or something that you do not understand. Whitewater also has a organization called The Learning Community for anyone who needs help with studying skills or to have a good background in your classes. |
Dorm Life | The dorms is one of the best place about the campus. It has enough space for you and your roommate and sometimes it feel like you are living in a little apartment. But the best dorm is Steirn because it is a little apartment. You have four people staying in one dorm but everybody has their own individual room. then you have a bathroom, kitchen, and living room all in this one space. So you do not have to go down the hall to the bathroom or down the stairs to the kitchen or a place to sit down and watch TV. |
Food and Dining | Whitewater has a lot of places were you can eat at on campus. they have a all you can eat buffet were you can use your meal plan card, swipe it and eat all the food that you want to. there another place called the UC were you can eat and to me they have the best food in there, but the catch is that you can not use your meal plan but you have to pay for the food. But it is worth it. then they have little dinning places were you can use your meal plan and get like a sandwich or something to drink if you are not that hungry or on the go. |
What to do for fun | There is a lot of things to do on campus. They have a bolling ally, movie theater, you can see plays for half off, or places you can just settle down and play pool or watch TV. |
