What Students Are Saying
If you're considering attending UT Tyler, talk to a counselor, attend orientation, and sign up early for classes. When you arrive explore the campus and find your classes so you won't be lost the first day. Also look for any on campus activities that you can attend so you can meet new people. Oh and most importantly, have fun!
Misty from Diana, TX
Do not go to UT Tyler expecting the worst as I did. It will take you too long to come around and enjoy the many things UT Tyler has to offer. Instead, step onto the campus with an open mind. Be ready to make changes, meet new people, and experience the unexpected. It will change your view, and it will change your life.
Brandi from whitehouse, TX
Here, there are plenty opportunities for you to study abroad and even get into some honors classes for all those extremely smart people. They also have a website that hires UT Tyler kids only so it helps you find a job in your field and most people look at the website because they know that only the best are coming from UT Tyler. The main two majors that I hear are GREAT here is the Accounting Program and the Nursing program as #1. There are hundreds of kids here for the nursing program because they know that they will get the best out of the best here at UT Tyler. I am an Accounting student and UT Tyler has not disappointed me yet.
Danielle from Mesquite, TX
Do not sit back and slack off. The professors are nice, do not take advantage of them. Do your work and turn it in on time. Professors are happy to help if you don't understand.
Aubrey from Ontario, CA
Don't procrastinate.
Breanna from Bullard, TX
Anything you can do at the local community college that transfers in will be beneficial. Choose a topic you feel strongly about and plan to alter assignments each semester around that topic specific to that class. Your papers will be unique but strengthen with each class.
Denise from Arlington, TX
Take advantage of all the amenities and resources that your tuition covers. Do not be afraid to ask for help: there are tutors and psychiatrists on campus ready to help you. Also, do not wait until the last minute to take care of financial matters when it comes to your education.
