Am learning a lot | Whether it is a boring topic or not the faculty at Temple University makes sure that you learn the information in a fun or interesting manner. |
Am enjoying being here | There is so much to do! I am currently involved in a sorority, prelaw fraternity, a business group, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars to name a few. No matter who you are or what you like there is something for everyone. |
Bang for the buck | As a state school Temple University has one of the lowest in-state and out of state tuitions in the country as far as I am aware of. In addition financial aid is very accommodating and helpful. |
Tips for prospective students | If you want a school with a lot to offer, variety, and where a great education will be provided then Temple University is for you. |
Great for these types of students | The university is great for any type of person as long as you will be happy in a large urban school. Although sometimes you forget your in a city and feel like Temple is its' own bubble. |

Will learn a lot | Temple offers a myriad of degree programs. This allows everyone to find the perfect combination of majors and minors. I would like to become a teacher, so I learned a lot about what there was to choose from between browsing their website and taking a tour. They also have a really impressive tech center with a large amount of computers. So you will, literally, learn a lot. |
Will enjoy being here | Philadelphia is my favorite American city. I know this school has a reputation among parents of being in a dangerous location, but the school has invested lot of time and money into providing activities on campus as well as ensuring the safety of its students (night club, movie theatre, the Temple police force, etc.). Most of the neighborhoods have also come a long way. As if Temple itself weren't already a great place to be for four years, Philadelphia has a lot to offer as well. There's delicious food, great shopping, a lot of culture, and one of the most impressive concert scenes around. |
Bang for the buck | You get a quality education at a more affordable price. |
Tips for prospective students | Apply early for everything. Sounds cliched, but this is so important when it comes to housing! Take a tour, and familiarize yourself with Philadelphia. |
Great for these types of students | Great for anyone! Temple champions diversity, so anyone can go here and fit in. |

Am learning a lot | There is so much to learn while attending Temple. The classes are some of the most interesting and informative classes I have ever taken. I've taken classes ranging from human sexuality to the art of acting right back to Psychology as a social science. You also learn a lot outside the classroom living in the dorms and experiencing Philadelphia. |
Am enjoying being here | From my perspective, everything about Temple is worth while. Everyday is a new learning experience and you wake up not knowing what to expect here. They have welcome week which includes many activities to help incoming freshman transition to college, Homecoming, which brings alumni back and also includes concerts and athletic games, Greek week, for those interested in sororities/frats, and spring fling just to name a few that help give you a break away from classes and exams. They even once had snowboarding and ice skating in the middle of campus for FREE. The teachers, staff and students are all very friendly and helpful 24/7. Campus life is always alive and enjoyable. |
Bang for the buck | Temple can be very expensive but it all depends on what your personal situation is. The financial aid packages are very helpful and flexible. Temple also has many on and off- campus work study jobs available for students. |
Tips for prospective students | Participate in any and everything that Temple offers because i promise you it'll be worth it. |
Great for these types of students | Students who enjoy very lively and active environments and students who like having variety and choices |

Am learning a lot | Temple University offers a spectacular range of majors. They also had so many fun and interesting courses that I had a lot of trouble choosing General Education courses, which is a really a good problem. (Incoming freshmen, or anyone for that matter, you must take The Art of Listening with Dr. Kreinberg. He's an absolute genius and a really nice guy too.) I'm finding that I miss the learning environment and can not wait to get back into the class room/lecture hall to begin my sophomore year at Temple. |
Am enjoying being here | I'm grew up in the suburbs so city life is definitely something to get used to. My favorite part about Philadelphia is that no matter what day or time it is, there is always something to do or somewhere to go. The city has so much history and such a diverse population. Most of my experience here at Temple have been pleasant ones. |
Bang for the buck | The University is the most wired university on the east coast. There are computer labs all over campus with free access for students. And not to mention the loaner laptops just in case yours malfunctions. Honestly you don't even need to buy a personal lap top. However, if you do have one and it breaks down they have tech people there to fix it, no charge. I really feel like there are (free) resources all over campus to help me. My favorite one by far is the Math and Science Resource Center. They helped me oodles my first year and I know they'll be right there for the rest of my college career. |
Tips for prospective students | The best tip I could give to any student is to actually show up to class. You may not always feel like going or feel like the professor is going to day or do anything you need to hear about, but you never know and it really can be the difference b/w passing and failing sometimes. |
Great for these types of students | Ambitious, self motivated, hungry, knowledge seeking, and determined. |

Am learning a lot | I am learning a lot from both the professors and myself. Temple has numerous facilities that are available for the students to access and/or get help. Also, professors and teacher assistants are constantly striving to help students in distress. They give the students the best possible solution they can find for a specific question and answer it as thoroughly and clearly as possible. Temple staff shows they are willing to help with the constant reminders to students about available facilities for assistance in any subject or any matter that is troubling a student. It really shows that they care! |
Am enjoying being here | I really like being on campus even after class. There are so many buildings available for access. For example, the pavilion is a wonderful place for exercise right alongside Pearson Hall. The wide range of sport fields offered is incredible! The tennis courts are right next to the track and basketball field. The fitness room a few steps from the swimming pool and the classrooms seem only a few inches away. I love being at the tech center, which always has computers available for students whether they are staying long or just have to print something out very quickly. In addition, those computers only take a few minutes to load! |
Bang for the buck | The tuition is not as expensive as other colleges that offer the same programs and class sizes. I already have a financial instability and suffered many hardships while deciding to attend which college. Temple offers many financial programs and aid for a student to join that he or she can't resist! Temple is very helpful with all of the scholarships and grants they offer for a prospecting student. It is like they are welcoming you with open arms no matter what ethnicity you are or how much money you have. |
Tips for prospective students | For students who are considering Temple as a potential college, go for it! This university has one of the most diverse campuses in the nation. The diversity is shown through one's daily presence on campus. Just being there a day will show you the incredible diversity of the student body. In addition, the facilities and classrooms are sized and distanced from each other perfectly. In classrooms, there is enough room for interaction between students without being too scrunched up. In other facilities, you never have to endure a painful expedition just to reach a classroom. The walk to a classroom is only about 5 minutes at most! |

Am learning a lot | You will get on of the best educations for less. They have built new high quality colleges like the new business and art school buildings. |
Am enjoying being here | There are multitudes of activities to do on capmus |
Bang for the buck | One of the most affordable tuition rates |
Tips for prospective students | Study Hard |
Great for these types of students | Every kind. Temple has been ranked the most diverse university in the nation. |

Will learn a lot | Temple's Journalism program is one of the best in the country and I can't wait to attend here and grab hold of the internship opportunities that I hear Temple has. |
Will enjoy being here | Can you say, Awesome Dorm Parties?? :) I mean, they have a movie theater on campus and the dining halls seem amazing. I can't wait. |
Bang for the buck | Its the least expensive out of all the schools I applied for and they give a good financial aid package if you have beter than average grades. |
Tips for prospective students | Get better than average grades in school, visit the campus (its a big school, might be intimidating), Know what major you want so you dont have to switch later. |
Great for these types of students | Artsy, Creative, and Humanities |

Am learning a lot | The classes I'm taking are great. The teachers are very interactive with the class & make learning very interesting. I'm learning a great deal in nearly every class. Whether it was expanding on topics I already knew about or learning something completely different. |
Am enjoying being here | The campus life at temple is awesome. There's so much to do every day of the week. Student activity groups are constantly getting involved with the rest of the student body via campus activities, talent shows or fashion shows. |
Bang for the buck | Though I believe that the tuition cost for out of state students is a bit high, I am very much enjoying both my education and leisure time at Temple. |
Tips for prospective students | Do not get caught up in the hype of parties and having fun because when it's all said & done, classes are what really matter. Make sure your financial situation is stable before attendence. Unnesseccary stress because of finances can be harmful to your grades. |
Great for these types of students | Art Students, Journalism students, Business students and those who do not exactly know what they want to do in the future yet. Classes are varied for all. |

In three sentences | Temple University is an exciting place to study! I am so inspired by the level of diversity at Temple and its commitment to constantly fostering academic excellence. Temple shines brightly because it opens doors in many ways for people of all backgrounds. |
Tips for prospective students | I would advise prospective students to look into what Temple has to offer them as an individual. There is so much to do at Temple from its student organizations and overall social climate. Also, research majors and course offerings. Don't be hasty in your judgments because you may find something that you never thought of as a major and/or minor to pursue. All in all, stay focused! |
Academic Rigor | I can only speak for my major, but I will say that you will work at Temple. I am in the School of Communications and Theater and I must say that professors expect the very best out of their students. There is no excuse for not reaching out to them if you need help, for example. I have found that the faculty is very understanding and that they only want to see you, as a student and future professional, succeed as you proceed in your journey. |
Dorm Life | I am a Resident Assistant at Temple and all I can say is that we are the BEST! The Temple University Office of Residential Life ensures that Temple students are the main priority. We strive to maintain an environment that is both welcoming and inclusive of all students. Just recently, we worked on brand management so that we can tailor our vision to ensure that we are meeting the needs of individuals that make up the Temple populace and that has been amazing. Now, there are some residence halls that you may want to stay at over others, but in general, you are guaranteed a great experience. |
Food and Dining | Okay, now I must say...Temple has some good and some bad when it comes to food. However, after you become acclimated with the options that you have, you will learn how to maneuver so that you are close to satisfied. The main cafeteria, Johnson and Hardwick Dining Hall, is an all-you-can-eat style dining experience. There are nights when you can find foods that will make you want more and there are others where you'll say, Lord, why me? LOL! Also, another main eatery is the Valaida S. Walker Food Court located in the Howard Gittis Student Center. Here, Temple students can find Einstein Bagel Brothers, WOW! Wingery and other well known vendors. The only downside to this place is that it costs a lot. You don't get a bang for your buck like at Johnson & Hardwick Dining Hall. |
What to do for fun | Well, Temple is located in one of the greatest cities in America...Philadelphia! There is so much to do as a Temple student. There are so many inexpensive ventures that you can take as a student whether you want to hear your favorite artist perform at the Kimmel Center or you just want to dine in at one of Philly's tastiest restaurants, you are sure to be satisfied. |
Bang for the buck | I will say that because I am a food connoisseur, I can really talk about bang for the buck in the context of food! The food trucks on campus are amazing! You can get chicken and rice with a soda for just $4.00 (no tax) and I guarantee that you won't be able to eat it all. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | On Temple's main campus, we have SpringFling, which is huge! This is a time where Temple students come out and enjoy food, fun and fellowship on Liacouras Walk, a premier location on our campus. |
Great for these types of students | There is something for everyone at Temple. I guarantee that much! :) To learn more about what would be great for you, please take a moment to visit www.temple.edu |
Clubs and Activities | There are too many clubs and activities to name, so I provided a link for you to browse at your leisure...https://www.temple.edu/studentaffairs/studentactivities/studentorgs/registered.asp |
Greek Life | I really don't know too much about Greek Life. You can visit this link on Temple's website if you'd like to learn more...http://www.templegreeks.com/ |
Campus Safety | I will say to be mindful of the location that you may be in at all hours. Though our police force is the second largest in the city underneath Philadelphia PD, things still happen. Our police strive to ensure a safe campus for all Temple students, but it can be hard to cover all bases with so many students, so what I will say again, is to be mindful of your location. Stay alert and you'll be just fine. |

Am learning a lot | I've had a crazy first year, between figuring out what classes I really want to take, and what I'm not too interested in, but the classes I did take were very interesting and I learned a whole lot more than I thought I would. The professors are very knowledgeable and helpful academically. |
Am enjoying being here | It's right down the street from one of the biggest, and most historical cities in PA. About a 5 minute subway ride, 10 minute bike, and 30 minute walk from Center City. There are LOTS of security guards everywhere, just be smart about what and where you are going at all times. |
Bang for the buck | It's VERY affordable for the amount of education and experience you get. For this price, it's a fantastic education, and I have known a few successful graduates come out of Temple with rewarding and enjoyable careers. |
Tips for prospective students | Don't go anywhere alone at night, it's just not a good thing to do, but don't be scared to go anywhere- explore with some friends! Go to the city! It's a wonderful resource, and within it are so many different things to do and learn from. |
Great for these types of students | city lovers, noise lovers, adventurers, hipsters :P |
