What Students Are Saying
Rowan may seem like a small school, too close to home, or not located in a good area. Those are the reasons I did not visit at first. But after visiting a friend there, I immediately fell in love with the school, its welcoming atmosphere and everything about it. Don't let misconceptions or ideas hold you back from visiting Rowan. It's definitely making a lot of positive changes to expand the campus. Not everyone goes home on the weekends - a lot of people stay!
Bevin from Lindenwold, NJ
If you're someone who is fun and energetic, then come to Rowan, even just for a visit. If you're serious about academic, but like having fun, then Rowan is the place for you.
Jamie from Vineland, NJ
Students should get involved on Campus. There are many programs that are student run here at Rowan including SUP, Student University Programmers, and RAH, Rowan After Hours. They are for all students and appeal mainly to those that do not go out on the weekend and party. Many people are friendly and are easy to approach so do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
Nora
Like any college, go the tour and ask at lest 4 students what they think about the school. At Rowan though you are welcomed to email, call and arrange a visit to meet any professor or department chair and ask them any questions you may have or your parents may have about the school.
Matt
Be prepared to walk! No freshman car permission, so be prepared to travel by foot (or shuttle) to and from class. No problem, though; campus is relatively small and accessible. Be aware of your surroundings to be safe, but campus is very safe and patrolled regularly.
Miosotis from Stroudsburg, PA
look up teachers before you add classes to make sure the teachers you get are ones you will like. it is also a good idea to get most books from amazon, half, and current students.
Nicole from Wayne, NJ
Keep focus and stay on top of things with the application progress...it take a while
Rachel from Westampton, NJ
You should go for honors. You can only benefit from it. Comparing the kids at this school to others, they seem happier. Some of the kids who work for admissions at other schools didn't appear to be as happy as the Rowan kids. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this school has a positive attitude.
If you plan to transfer into Rowan University, make SURE you get Rowan's requirements in terms of prereq's before actually transferring in. That was a huge headache for me.
