Am learning a lot
The teachers and curriculum here is outstanding. You will learn important things to help you further your career.
Am enjoying being here
The campus is beautiful and small. It makes it easy to get up and go to class right before time and not worry about having to run to class. The dorms are very nice and clean. Yes, this includes the freshman dorms.
Bang for the buck
The college may seem like a lot of money at first glance, but they offer great scholarships and finanical aid to everyone.
Tips for prospective students
If you are thinking of choosing this school, or any school at all, make sure you visit the campus and stay overnight. It is important to meet the people there and see how well you connect with them. Do not worry, upperclassmen are not mean that is just in the movies. Visit every college you are interested in and make the right choice; it is must more convenient to stay at one college all four years rather than jumping around. Make sure you like the food, I know that sounds silly but you will starve if you do not like it. All in all, just have fun and get to know people!
Great for these types of students
Outgoing and fun people. Diversity is really cherished at this school. Athletics department is amazing. People are want to join a sorority or fraternity WITHOUT the risk of being hazed. Our school has a strict NO hazing policy. Finally, anyone who wants an amazing academic adventure or interested in one of the best nursing programs in the state of North Carolina.

Am learning a lot
I just finished my first semester at Queens University of Charlotte and I absolutely love it! The classes are small - there are no classes with more than thirty students. The teachers are skilled and knowledgeable in what they teach. Teachers and students work together and between the professors and the Learning Center for Academic Success, they are determined to help the student learn.
Am enjoying being here
The school is in a very affluent area in the city of Charlotte. The school is small and everything is within easy walking distance. Although Charlotte is a large city, you would never know it considering where the school is. The clubs and organizations within the school work hard to involve the students not only in the Queens community but within the Charlotte community.
Bang for the buck
Although the tuition is high, the school is always willing to work with students to help them attend. The financial aid office will look for every scholarship and grant available to the student. The education level and the people make everything worth it. The school contains a number of traditions and clubs and sports and sororities/fraternities and opportunities to explore the city.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure you visit Queens! The campus is beautiful and there are opportunities all year to spend the night with a student and attend classes the next day. It is the perfect opportunity to see if you fit!
Great for these types of students
Queens is great for any student who wants to be in a close knit community and wants to learn and receive a great college education.

The professors are here to help you. They are very flexible to having meetings if you need additional help and there are even other areas on campus that are here to help you learn as much as possible, such as the center for academic success.
Am enjoying being here
Even before you are a student here the students and faculty make you feel welcomed. You are one big community and there are always activities on campus hosted by the different organizations on campus. When you are at Queens being bored is never an option.
Tips for prospective students
Be prepared and on top of assignments. Even though this is a small school and the professors are nice and understanding this is still a school and you have to stay focused and not get to rapped up in other things. Getting things done ahead of time prevents last minute work pile ups.
Great for these types of students
Students looking for a small school.
Small class sizes
One on One attention
Friendly people to meet

Will learn a lot
The teaching staff seems great, and they have an amazing selection of undergrad programs.
What attracted me to the school in the first place was their international program. Around 90% of students at queens either do a summer study tour, or study abroad for a semester which is an AMAZING oppurtunity!
Will enjoy being here
The first time I visited campus was in the summer of 2010, it is so beautiful and just all around amazing. It is really small, but you are in a great neighborhood just a few minutes away from Downtown Charlotte. The buildings are very clean, even the doors, which is always good.
Bang for the buck
Queens is expensive. But there are tons of financial aid options available for students, and the staff at Queens is more than willing to work with you. More scholarship money is available for more expensive schools, and all I can say is that you get what you pay for.
Tips for prospective students
Definitely visit campus, and get acquainted with your admissions counselor! They are all super nice, and they will answer any and every question you have.

Queens is a small school with a huge impact. It may seem surreal when you first step foot on the campus, but believe it or not, everyone here is as nice as they seem. Everyone here is exceptionally understanding and the classes are definitely rigorous.
Tips for prospective students
Apply early.
If you get the opportunity, attend Scholarship Day.
Visit campus (it makes the difference).
Look for numerous outside scholarships as well, just in case.
Do not think that college will be your time for slacking off, even in the slightest. It's going to be time to step it up.
There is always time for fun though.
Academic Rigor
The classes are not even the slightest bit easy. This is college after all. Any grade you receive on an assignment is something that you worked for.

A's don't come as easily as you would expect when you were in high school. You'll have to study and get all your work done every night.
Dorm Life
I'm in a suite, and it's extremely spacious. There are always things to be done in your dorm, and always people to hang out with. The only thing is that people tend to walk a bit heavily, so you might here that from time to time.
Food and Dining
It could be a lot better.
When it's good, it's really good.
When it's bad, you go to the Lion's Den on campus (for pool, Foosball, and a jukebox) and get some burgers and curly fries.
What to do for fun
There is always something to do on campus. Always an activity, always intramurals and we're located in the city of Charlotte. There are numerous activities in the city to do.
Bang for the buck
Queens is extremely pricy, and while the price may be taking out a steep chunk out of your paycheck, it's an exceptional school. The rigor of the classes and the amount of activities they have planned every year leaves no doubt in your mind.

Though in some areas it could be quite a bit better.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
We can have hammocks all over campus in the Residential Quad, so if you just feel like having four hammocks between the same two trees, you have the green light.

We are also allowed to go into the fountains here, not just dip a toe or two, but to actually put swim clothes on and stay in the fountain.
Great for these types of students
It's actually great for everyone. There is a vast amount of diversity here and no matter what type of person you are, you will most definitely find your niche.
Clubs and Activities
I'm involved in quite a few clubs here and I have to say that there is a club for everyone. If you play sports, but you don't want to join a team, there's intramurals. If you love anime, there's a club for that, to explore the city, there's a club for that. For virtually all your needs there's a club or activity that fits them. If for some reason there isn't, you can quite easily create one.
Greek Life
I am actually in a sorority and it's the best decision I have ever made. If you ever worry about hazing, or if you won't fit in, this is definitely the place to be. There is an exceptionally strict no hazing policy at this school that makes new members feel incredibly safe.

There is also an exceptionally strong Greek community relationship. We speak highly of all our sororities and fraternities and we work to empower each other, and never the other way around.
Campus Safety
Our campus is incredibly safe. Not only does Campus Police work around the clock and take their jobs seriously, but our Honor Code is so strict it leaves no doubt about the safety of our school.

We can walk around campus at all hours of the night and not feel scared of what might happen, and if you do feel scared, Campus Police will walk you wherever you need to go. You can even walk the neighborhood by yourself and feel incredibly safe because we are located in one of the richest neighborhoods of Charlotte, and as such, the police department regards the area very carefully.

The honor code allows for you to leave any and all of your possessions in an area and you can come back the next day and still see your items there, or you've gotten a call from campus police saying they have your item.

Queens University of Charlotte is a school where one can flourish. With high academic rigor, inclusive activities, and a strong sense of community, Queens has many things students go in wanting. The school is extremely dedicated in cultivating the best experience for all its attendees.
Tips for prospective students
Get involved! Queens is a small school, so finding your niche is key in making your college years a great experience. ALso, research and apply for all of the scholarships offered by Queens that you qualify for. Queens offers a great amount in financial aid and can make attending Queens possible.
Academic Rigor
The academics of this school really draw out the best in each of the students. The professors are dedicated and work with you towards your success. Many professors and faculty are connected to their field of study outside of Queens, making internships a real possibility.
Dorm Life
While some of the dorms have your typical, small rooms, other dorms are much more spacious which allow for more options. You can choose to have an individual room, a double, or a suite style.
Food and Dining
The food in the dining hall can go either way, however you can find that at most other universities. There are other options, such as the Lions Den, the coffee house, and Einstein's if you are looking for something different.
What to do for fun
Charlotte is an incredibly metropolitan city. There are so many activities in the area. It's a diverse city, and you can always find something to do. There are so many areas of town, like NODA and Uptown, that offer unique experiences for everyone.
Bang for the buck
Queens University is expensive, however if you put in the work to find scholarships, and work opportunities, it can be done. Choosing Queens was the best choice I made, and it is worth all the effort to afford to go here. The academics, the friends I've made, and the opportunities offered make this school worth everything I've put into it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Queens University has many campus traditions, and some are very special. On the first night of final exams, the professors make and serve 'breakfast' late in the evening. It really shows how much even the professors are invested in your success. Other traditions include Boars Head, a medieval feast to welcome the Christmas season, and a night of free ice skating for all students. These traditions enhance the sense of community that this school offers.
Clubs and Activities
There are many clubs and activities to get involved in on campus. It's a great way to meet people, especially at the beginning of the year. There is really something for everyone, and even people who hate being involved will feel comfortable in the clubs and activities offered.
Greek Life
Greek Life at Queens is truly phenomenal. Being a part of a sorority was the best decision I made at Queens. The Greek life at Queens is different than many other universities. Because Queens is a small school, the sororities and fraternities have smaller numbers. However, this often allows for a genuine closeness between all chapters that you may not find at other schools. The sororities and fraternities at Queens also do not have their own houses for members to live in. This is a unique factor about the chapters at Queens, and it also cut down on costs and fees for membership. All of the sororities and fraternities have a strict no hazing policy, and all of the chapters adhere to this rule. Greek Life at Queens is truly special.
Campus Safety
Safety is a main priority at Queens University. Because it is a small campus, Campus Police is able to effectively protect the whole area. Queens also provides a service called Q-Alert, which will notify you by text, phone call, and email if there is a threat. Queens is extremely committed to the safety of it's students, and has taken many precautionary measures since the many recent campus shootings.
