Am learning a lot | In general, classes are challenging but not too overwhelming. Lee offers a variety of classes so that students can study subjects that really interest them. |
Am enjoying being here | Lee offers activities for all sorts of students. Those who enjoy sports can play on intramural teams. Those who love music can try out for one of the many choirs and bands, even if they are not music majors. The Student Leadership Council is a great way to meet people and get involved on campus. In addition, there are numerous other clubs in which to get involved. Lee also offers many short study-abroad opportunity. The students at Lee are great! Most are very friendly and accepting, and I can feel a sense of community on campus. |
Bang for the buck | Lee is very reasonably priced for a private college. It costs roughly $17,000 per year, and they offer automatic scholarships for freshmen with high SAT/ACT scores, in addition to other college-sponsored scholarships. |
Tips for prospective students | 1. If you apply early enough and send in a housing deposit, you can into one of the nicer dorms, even as a freshman. You can apply in the summer before your senior year. Dorm descriptions are on the website. 2. Some people feel as if there is not a lot to do on campus, but you can find plenty of activities in which to get involved. 3. Prospective students should be aware that freshmen have a curfew of midnight during the week and one a.m. one the weekend. |
Great for these types of students | Lee is definitely a Christian college, and although one will find both Christians and those with other beliefs there, students with Christian values would generally enjoy Lee more than others. For example, students are required to attend chapel each week and to take several Bible classes, and Lee prohibits activities such as alcohol, drugs and premarital sex. For those with Christian values, however, most students should not find the rules particularly unreasonable. Even though Lee is affiliated with the Church of God, all denominations are welcome, and students will encounter a variety of specific beliefs. Lee is also great for students who want to attend a fairly small Christian college but to still have many opportunities during college. |

Am learning a lot | I can honestly say that I have learned a lot while being here. The professors are, for the most part, very friendly, Christian people who would do anything to help their students learn. I find that if my professors are in their office, I can just walk in and ask for help no matter the time. These professors are also extremely qualified for their jobs; they really are experts in their fields. For the most part, the classes capture my interest. I find that I actually do learn in these classes and do not simply memorize the information for the test. I still can recall a lot of the things I learned during my first semester at Lee. |
Am enjoying being here | I absolutely love this campus! The Christian atmosphere is amazing. Everyone is incredibly friendly and will even share their umbrella with you during one of Cleveland's rainy days. Always expect to walk around and hear people singing and singing well. (We are known for our School of Music.) Also, the campus is gorgeous! Physical Plant works really hard to keep it clean and keep the landscaping looking nice. I also find that Chapel services are great; it is awesome to come together and worship with people your own age. When it comes to extracurricular activities, there is really something for everyone on this campus including academic clubs, sports, choirs, Greek clubs, social service clubs, Student Leadership Council, Small Groups, etc. Dorm life is really awesome as well. The residential life staff do a really good job of creating a community in the dorms which allows the residents to have fun and grow together. There is also a lot of diversity on this campus. Lee has a ton of international students from countries such as Nigeria, Nepal, the Bahamas, Jamaica, etc. |
Bang for the buck | Lee is actually really cheap for being a private, Christian liberal arts university. Lee really does take pride in the low tuition cost. You really do get a great education for a low cost. As far as the quality of education goes, Lee ranks as a Top Tier University in the South for the US News and World Report. It is also listed as one of 68 Up and Coming Universities in America. Also, in Princeton Review’s “Best Colleges,” Lee is ranked as one of the best colleges in the Southeastern United States. We are also on the President's Honor Roll for Community Service. Our Study Abroad program is also very highly ranked. Honestly, with all of these credentials, Lee really does offer a great bang for the buck. |
Tips for prospective students | First, if you attend Lee, get involved. I promise you can find something on this campus to do. Do not sit around in your dorm room while you can be out having fun and making friends. Second, take the ACT/SAT as many times as you can to get your highest score. Lee offers some great scholarships if your scores are high enough. The rest of these are not really tips, but just things you need to know. You should know that you will have to sign the community covenant which says you will not drink, participate in premarital or extramarital sex, etc. You should know that freshman have a curfew of midnight through the week and 1 AM on the weekends, but everyone must be in by 3 AM or they are considered out all night and recieve accountablity hours. You should also know that chapel is required. Christian or not, you must attend 70% of chapel services. There are some exceptions for students who are married, are working, or have any other special circumstances. Also, study abroad is required of every Lee student. They do this so that students have a better understanding of other cultures and things of that nature. Also, 80 community service hours are required before you graduate. Along with that, everyone at Lee must minor in Bible. The community service hours count as a part of your Bible minor. |
Great for these types of students | Lee is great for Christian students and non-Christians as well. If you want to go to a college where you will not have to worry about peer pressure to drink, smoke, or do other things you do not want to do, Lee is a great place. For Christians, your relationship with God really becomes defined by you and not you parents or other figures in your life during this period of your life; Lee helps you with this. An incredible emphasis is placed on the spiritual lives of students. For non-Christians, you, too, will be challenged spiritually. Honestly, Lee is a great place for everyone because it provides a place for everyone and has a really nice, Christian, and accepting atmosphere. |

Am enjoying being here | I am having the best college experience here at Lee University. It is a wonderful place to be and I am so glad it was my first and only choice! I could not imagine enrolling anywhere else. It has made me grow as a person for the best. |
Bang for the buck | It is not the cheapest university in America but I can say if one plans on attending a Christian college...it can be one of the cheapest!...It is well worth the money. The tuition is around 15,000. |
Tips for prospective students | Prospective students should definitely get involved. Make the best of their experience by making friends, getting to know the professors, advisors, and other staff, striving for the best academically, and have an open mind in order to grow spiritually! |
Great for these types of students | Lee University is a terrific place for students who are seeking to be amongst a Christ like community, wanting to expand their cultural views, live in a clean beautiful atmosphere, share experiences with friendly students, and learn from passionate kind professors! |

Am learning a lot | Lee is a challenging school, but in a good way! They will push you so that you better yourself! If you need any help at all, all you have to do is go talk to the professor. They are more than willing to assist you in any way possible. I truly believe that I can learn more here than I ever could at a public school! The professors have actual knowledge and experience of what they're teaching. Lee is all together just a great educational school! |
Am enjoying being here | The people at Lee are absolutely amazing! The friends I've made and the professors I've had have changed me! They make being fourteen hours away from home not feel so bad. They make college life fun! The people here are always here for you, whether your homesick, needing help in class, or are just bored. This university is absolutely amazing, and I'm loving every second here! |
Bang for the buck | Lee is a private Christian school, but you wouldn't know it from the cost. There is no out of state tuition; everyone pays the same thing! Lee is much cheaper than any of Texas' state schools! Lee is also worth every penny, and they give such great scholarships to help out! |
Tips for prospective students | Lee is the campus where Christ is King! This is such a fun school to be at, and it's centered around our Lord and Saviour so it's even better! Come with an open mind and heart willing to learn from God. |
Great for these types of students | Lee is great for all types of students! I have met people from all different types of backgrounds, and they all love it here! No matter where you come from, there is a spot for you at Lee University! |

Am learning a lot | There are a wide variety of classes and majors that students can choose from. Students are required to take many core classes in different subjects, so the base of learning is expanded beyond the individual's chosen major. The majority of the teachers are dedicated to teaching and helping their students learn as much as they can. |
Am enjoying being here | The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. If a student wishes to be involved he can do so with the numerous clubs, intramural sports, organizations, and activities available to the student body at large. There is always something happening on campus and with everything from the post office to the dining hall to the bookstore located within a small area the campus is more like a community. The surrounding area around the campus is full of businesses, stores, and attractions. |
Bang for the buck | Compared to many other classes, Lee is well priced, including the price of dorming there. The campus is beautifully landscaped and the buildings are both up-to-date and elaborately designed. |
Tips for prospective students | Be aware of some rules: boys and girls are not allowed past the lobby in the opposite sex's dorm halls and there is a curfew of midnight on week nights and one o'clock on weekends. |
Great for these types of students | The college and campus is great for many students, but Christians and church-goers will get the most out of their experience there. Every student has to take a Bible class every semester and regular chapel service attendance is mandatory. It is also encouraged to attend and become involved in church services outside of the college. |

In three sentences | Great Christian school with rigorous academics, a gorgeous campus, a (relatively) cheap price tag, a perfect amount of students and things to do, a ton of majors, an array of housing options, thriving greek life (if you're into that), a lighthearted attitude, and one of the best study abroad programs out there. |
Tips for prospective students | Absolutely check this school out if you're looking for a cheap, quality christian education on an epic campus. |
Academic Rigor | The class I sat in on was fascinating, and from what I can gather, classes are exactly as tough as you want to make them. |
Dorm Life | They have a ton of housing options, none of which seem anything less than decent. |
Food and Dining | The actual campus food is alright, (this is coming from one of the pickiest eaters you've never met) but they have a ton of other dining options. This includes a *FREE* dining option on campus in which grocery stores donate food that is getting close to the expiration date. You never what you'e getting, but one guy told me he had ribeye steak 3 times that week. For free. |
What to do for fun | Go to one of the campus' parties. While these are openly christian students, take your preconceived notions of prudish spoiled kids and throw them out the window. They have a lot of fun without doing anything dangerous. Their sports teams kick butt, too. So i'd imagine going to a game or two once in a while would be fun. |
Bang for the buck | Arguably the best Tier II school out there, and for slightly more than a community college's price. |
Great for these types of students | Really, it fits any christian student you cant think of. You can work your butt off for a great resume, or you can do the minimum and have the time of your life. |
Clubs and Activities | They have a ton of student organizations, none of which look underfunded. |
Greek Life | They have a lot of greek organizations, most of which have an awesome house. |
Campus Safety | Campus security is everywhere, and there is a curfew. The surrounding area is a pretty low income area, but I don't think its too much of a problem. |

Am learning a lot | Lee is Cleveland, Tennessee's best kept secret. From the great campus that is a wonderful combination of brick buildings and gorgeous landscapes to the people, the professors, the friends, and everyone in-between. Lee University is my home. |
Am enjoying being here | You always have something to do, there are events every Friday night and we live so close to Chattanooga, an awesome collage town. I can hardly explain how amazing Lee really is in words. You will grow closer to God, you will meet the best people you've ever know, and you will wake up every day thinking about how blessed you are to be at Lee University. |
Bang for the buck | I live out of state and the tuition price is cheaper than most of my private schools in my state (including the in-state tuition price). Lee actually has the #1 ranked Study Abroad program. You have to go on a trip before you graduate and Lee pays for 75% of your trip! I plan on going to Europe for 2 weeks and I get credits that go toward my major. |
Tips for prospective students | Freshmen: Girls go for Sharp/Davis hall (Its the nicest freshman girls dorm) Guys go for Bowdle/O' Bannon You have a curfew; 12am on weekdays and 1am on weekends. (It's not a big deal, I promise) You are required to go to chapels, but only 70% a month. (Everyone is there so it's like a big hang out and not like a church service.) Freshmen won't be able to have cars so make friends with upper classmen. Come to LEE DAY! It's the best way for prospective students to see everything happening at Lee in one weekend. It's usually the first weekend in April. Whatever your expectation are, they will be blown away by how amazing this place is. |
Great for these types of students | Music students, Lee has one of the best music programs around. Pre-Med, Lee has a ridiculous Medical School acceptance rate. Theatre, you get more opportunities to act as opposed to bigger schools. Athletes, you get more opportunities to play as opposed to larger schools. Outdoor Lovers, Lee is 10 minutes from the best rafting in the country and next to some great campsites. Christians, You will learn to know Christ in a whole new way. |

In three sentences | Lee University is a private, christian college in Cleveland, TN. Lee University is completely Christ-centered and a great place to be. It has some of the nicest people in the world and, no matter what you did in high school, they will let you in if you are really serious about getting a college education because they believe strongly in redemption. |
Tips for prospective students | Lee University is fantastic if you give it a chance. Because it is not widely known, many automatically write it off their list. However, if you go to visit Lee it will become clear how wonderful the small college can be. |
Academic Rigor | If you try, it can be easy. It's a very Christ-centered education and, while senior year is said to be very challenging, the teachers will work with you to help you succeed. |
Dorm Life | They have suite style dorms. 2 people to a room with a conjoining bathroom that connects to another room. |
Food and Dining | There are a lot of good restaurants off campus but I didn't love the food in the dining hall. It's an all-you-can-eat type place where you just have to swipe in at the front. |
What to do for fun | Cleveland is close to Chattanooga, TN which has TONS of fun things to see and do. |
Bang for the buck | Lee University is quite possibly the cheapest private school you'll ever find. |
