What Students Are Saying
Some tips that I believe are highly important are to be on time to class, don't bum your first test, and have fun but keep your grades up so you dont have to end up dropping any classes or getting a NC (no credit) for the class. First off, being on time is important because some teachers don't allow tardys and you don't want to get an absence just because you were 5 minutes late. Second, I learned this the hard way. Aim high for your first test. Study, Study, Study!!! Some teachers only have 3 tests for the entire semester so if you mess up on one you may not be able to pull out with that A you wanted. So take the first test seriously and learn from the test so you recognize how the format of the tests are. Last but not least have fun and keep your grades up because college is fun and everything but remember you don't want to be in college for the rest of your life just because you goofed of in Biology class.

Be social. It will be a great way to meet new people and make great friends. I also recommend giving the dorms a try. They're not as bad as some people say it is.
Christopher from Douglasville, GA
If you are looking for a great nursing, music, teaching, or computer science school, this is the school for you! We are well known for these majors!
Heather from Alto, GA
If you want to see a smiling face everywhere you go as long as you remain on campus, I recommend you to come to Jacksonville State University. Though JSU is located in a small town, I still recommend you to get your priorities in order. It's great to have fun (and I definitely expect you to do so), but you always have to make yourself realize that school is your number one priority. It's your full-time job for at least 4 years.
Alexandria from Wedowee, AL
Do not come here if you think its all about the parties and the just show ups. Plan on doing a lot of studying because you are going to need it. Once here, I advise all students to get involved in some sort of activity/ organization, or your four years+ here will be the most boring years you've experienced in your lifetime. Also plan your schedule at times that you are most comfortable.
Ebony from Leeds, AL
Live on campus your first two years, make friends, go to the Orientations, Freshman Forums, and any other school events. You will meet many nice and helpful people. Join clubs that interest you. You wont regret it.
Chanelle from Valley, AL
JSU may not even be on your radar, but give it a serious look.
Andrea from MARIETTA, GA
Make sure you are ready to STUDY.
