Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

This school is very expensive but with the help of FAFSA and allying for scholarships, all i have to do it pay a Panther Payment Plan. It;s worth the money! And Work-study also helps with you're in financial need.
Angeline from Palm Springs, FL
The tuition is very expensive, but most of their grants and scholarships pay for most of it. You definitely get what you pay for from your classes, but they could improve on their library.
Evadne from Vero Beach, FL
This is on a per student basis. The school is expensive, yes, not one is doubting that. However, if you speak to almost any student or alumni they will inform you about how enriching the experience is. Students at my school are family that continues on forever, and the lessons you learn stay with you always. If the choice is between a cheap school where you are miserable or Florida Tech then I hope the choice is obvious. Now then it also depends on your major. My career choice makes eighty grand as a starting salary and I have quite a few scholarships not to mention the high demand for chemical engineers, so as long as I stick with it I will be able to pay off any money I owe fairly quickly. If you are going into a field that does not pay well and is pretty overcrowded then you may not want to choose FIT.
Brittany from Cape Coral, FL
FIT is a private school, so it will hurt your parent's pockets a bit, but they are really understanding and helpful when it comes to financial needs. They offer lots of work study, scholarship, and grants to make it easier for your parents to pay tuition.
Foreign at fit
Expensive, sorry not gonna lie but I think it is worth every penny. Now remember I didn't live on campus so the cost was lower for me and I didn't experience dorm life. But the tuition costs are worth it because of the great teachers and staff that work at the university. If I have a question or problem it gets dealt with. I have learned alot being there just a year, that is priceless.

Let's be real here - Florida Tech is expensive for some, but there's more behind that you should know... the key here is Florida Tech tries to make it affordable for everyone with the scholarships and aid they give out. They offer so much to students, so there's going to be a price, but you should still apply and weigh all your options once you receive scholarship/financial aid packages from everywhere you apply.
Genevieve from Brookline, NH
It is expensive, but they have ways of helping you out! Don't get turned off just by the raw tuition rate alone...YOU WILL NOT PAY THAT!
Joseph from Perkasie, PA
Every dollar is worth it. Manage your time and money wisely and you will be rewarded in the long run.
D'Andre from Palm Bay, FL
It is very expensive to go here, but if there is always scholarships and financial aid. Florida Tech hands out a lot of money to good students.
Stephanie from Hudsonville, MI
The college is really pricey and that's the reason I can't attend. However I would say depending on what you're going to college for it's great.
