Will enjoy being here | oxford is a small town with big city life. The people are friendly, it's a clean city, and it's a football town. The town supports the school, and everyone loves the Rebels. It truly isan amazing place |
Bang for the buck | Whatever it is, if you're in-state, or out of state like myself, Ole Miss is worth it. It has everything you could want. |
Tips for prospective students | VISIT CAMPUS. i was not a fan before i actually went to campus. i have visited Baylor, Arkansas, Texas, LSU, and ULL, and no where gives me the warm-fuzzies like Ole Miss. its different than anywhere you can ever go. |
Great for these types of students | looking for a small school education, and a big school weekend atmosphere. the student teacher ratio, 17:1, is the size of Rhodes or Vanderbilt. The Grove on game day is the #1 place to tailgate, and you cant get that anywhere else. go visit! go rebs! |

Am learning a lot | Wow! My first year at the University of Mississippi has been a blast!! I can't hardly believe my last final will be tomorrow! I have learned so much! From my EDHE class, to my Biology! Even things I thought I already knew have been broadened; just be being apart of the diverse group of individuals, that make up The University of Mississippi. |
Am enjoying being here | From ASB elections, daily polls at the union, campus events (like the black and white ball), Raves at the library, Ford Center performances, Grovin' in the University Grove on game day, FOOTBALL games with previously No. 4 Ranked Ole Miss team, and just the campus, it is a blast! Ole Miss is the perfect place to be! Come be apart! |
Bang for the buck | Oh yes! Ole Miss is one of the most ecnomical state universities in the US. Definitely consider The University of Mississippi for that. All of my teachers have gone out of their way to be certain that I was gaining, and was equipped with all of the tools and information I needed to make my learning experience the best possible. |
Tips for prospective students | Don't be afraid to ask you teachers questions, thats what they are their for, but that goes for every university. For Ole Miss, be apart! Get out there! Go to football games! Drag a friend along, even if you didn't finish your home work. All ways make time to see them rebels play! Also, consider going greek and joining a panhellenic fraternity or sorrority! Ole Miss has some of the most acclaimed greek societies in the country! |
Great for these types of students | The University of Mississippi is a unique, close-knit environment. It is a small campus, so everything is nearby. Even if your late for class, it will only be 2 minutes late! Don't underestimate the campus though. It has ALOT to offer. They have squeezed SO much important useful things in the small acreage is rests upon, it will take you your entire 4 years to discover what all it has to offer... and then some! |

Am learning a lot | Ole Miss is considered the Harvard of the South, and it's no joke. It may be easy to get into the school, but it's not super easy to stay in. You definitely have to do the work and plan on learning to time manage and avoid procrastinating! |
Am enjoying being here | Oxford is an AMAZING town. The food is great, there are many local boutiques to shop at, and the night life is unbeatable. |
Bang for the buck | At Ole Miss, you get a top-notch education at an extremely low price. Additionally, they're very generous with scholarships as long as you take the time to apply. Even as an out of state student, I'm paying way less to attend school here than I would at many of my in-state universities. |
Tips for prospective students | Even if you're just a tiny bit interested in Ole Miss, TAKE A VISIT. Many people will say that just one time on the campus and in Oxford was what made them decide to attend school here. Also, apply for the Honors College! It's a huge perk because you get priority registration for classes. You also get many opportunities to make connections with future potential employers. |

Everyone I have met around campus and in town have been very friendly and welcoming. The campus is absolutely beautiful and everything is easily accessible. The Student Programming Board entertains with movies every month and there is always something to do on campus. Whether you have a car or not does not matter because the university buses travel the entire town and make living on or off campus enjoyable as well. |
Bang for the buck | The University of Mississippi is a university surrounded by success. Whether through the alumni or current students, Ole Miss is represented by outstanding people. Am learning a lot | Professors are great and you will do fine as long as you go to classes. |
Am enjoying being here | The campus is beautiful and the people are all very friendly. There is always so much to do between the football games and tailgate in the grove to going to frat parties or just hanging out in Oxford Square |
Bang for the buck | Living in Oxford is so much cheaper than living in New Jersey. You can do a lot of things for very little money. |
Tips for prospective students | If you aren't from the South, be open minded. There is nothing better than going to a big Southern school for college. Ole Miss has a sense of tradition that I know I wouldn't have gotten in a East Coast school. |

Greek Life | The Greek Life at Ole Miss is extremely supportive of each other, the University and the community with tons of philanthropic events throughout the year. This is common of the whole school in general, though. It has been a blessing to join my favorite sorority and I'm still best friends with the girls who chose other houses for themselves. |

In three sentences | The University of Mississippi is rich in tradition and academic opportunities. However they also know how to have fun which is evident on game days and in greek life. Most importantly, they have many resources to help you find a career after college. |
Tips for prospective students | Before you apply visit, if possible on a game weekend. Not only will you see a majority of the student body, but also a majority of the alumni. You'll see the traditions that the campus thrives of us and get to experience an amazing atmosphere. Make sure to wear Sunday's Best! |
Academic Rigor | In all honesty, it depends on your major. Sure there are some majors that aren't known to be as rigorous as others. But every degree from here can get you a job. |
Dorm Life | In all honesty, anywhere you go dorms will be dorms. They're what you make out of them. At Ole Miss unless you're in the residential college, only freshman stay in dorms. And besides the honors dorms, they're not co-ed. |
Food and Dining | The food's actually pretty good. I didn't give it 5 stars because the lack of places. There's basically a food court and two dining halls, which isn't always enough for the large student population. |
What to do for fun | There's something for everyone. There's intramural sports, greek life, gamers club, just to name a few. The night life in Oxford is good on the square and for sure at the fraternity parties. However there's also plenty to do if partying is not your scene. |

Greek Life | The University of Mississippi is known to have some of the best Greek Life in the country. Going through recruitment is a bit stressful, but the ultimate result is worth it. I would look into going through recruitment because as a freshman at times, it does seem really important. However there is also a good chunk of campus not involved in Greek Life. |
Campus Safety | I have never once had a problem with safety on campus. I go for walks at night and never feel threatened. The campus and town are very safe. |
