What Students Are Saying

You should:
-Apply for financial aid and admission early.
-Take a tour of the school.
-Talk to the professors.
-Check for your major.
Shelby from San Antonio, TX
Try to get your financial aid in ASAP because they award by who turns it in earliest. Also, if you are leasing a dorm, don't wait to the last minute.
Devin from Victoria, TX
Start your financial aid process early. If you wait too long, it can go past the payment deadline date and then you will have to take out a loan to pay for your classes until the financial aid comes through.
Tammy from Roanoke, TX
Become friends with everyone you meet, have fun, and open your mind to new things but keep your grades up and for every one hour class you have study two hours for that class.
Kettley from Victoria, TX
Students who are not sure if they want to attend I encourage you to call 361-570-4144 to schedule a campus tour. Students who are sure they want to attend UH-V I advise you to apply at www.fafsa.ed.gov to see if you are eligible for scholarships, grants or loans in order to pay for your tuition. When the semester has started if by any chance you may be in a tough personal situation speak to your professors first and they will understand.
Esther Bazaldua
Become involved and college life will be extremely memorable.
Take advantage of the availability of the staff (including advisers, financial aid assistance, etc.) because others do not receive as much attention as quick and as well as the students at UHV do.
Isabella from San Juan, TX
great school. few students in each class, makes it better for professors to focus on you
Nereyda from Victoria, TX
Very small town , not much to do but the University is great.
Michelle from Victoria, TX
