Founded in 1978, the Savannah College of Art and Design is a private arts university with two locations in Georgia, and a study abroad location in Lacoste, France. With a goal of preparing students for creative professions, SCAD grants degrees in over 40 arts-related subjects such as Cinema Studies, Fashion, and Sequential Art. In addition to classroom and studio space, SCAD is home to the Gutstein Gallery displaying alumni artwork. For a hands-on learning experience for cinema students, the Savannah Film Studios feature three sound stages as well as lighting grids and postproduction suites.
