Saint Joseph's College of Maine
Saint Joseph's College of Maine is a liberal arts college that was founded in 1912 by the Sisters of Mercy, and it is the only Catholic college in Maine. The Mercy tradition is encouraged at Saint Joseph’s through volunteering, service trips, Respect Life Sunday, and the student organization Mercy Service Corps. SJC also features the Center for Faith and Spirituality to encourage dialogue amongst different faiths represented on campus. The college is taking the initiative to become more sustainable by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, recycling, and using compost stations.
