Am learning a lot | The classes at North Central are great and well worth the money paid for them. Most of them cover subject matter that will relate to everyday life. Professors are caring and willing to help whenever a student needs it. |
Am enjoying being here | North Central has a great atmosphere. I love being a part of this community. Since most students live on-campus, you get to know people on a personal level inside and outside of the classroom. |
Bang for the buck | While North Central is a private Christian University, it is fairly inexpensive. The cost of attendance for one year is around $20,000, while other comparable Christian colleges can add up to over $30,000 per year. |
Tips for prospective students | Since North Central is a private Christian school, it requires that all of its students have a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. It has an Assemblies of God affiliation, but the denominations here are not a big deal. I would recommend that if you are a student considering North Central to come to a campus visit day and see for yourself how wonderful the people here are. Also, if you are worried about being located in Downtown Minneapolis, I would recommend you talk to the security here. They are great people and everyone I know here feels very safe on campus. |
Great for these types of students | North Central is great for students who are looking to follow God in His calling for their lives. Even if you are here for one semester, it will change your life. If you are looking to grow in your faith, North Central is a great place to learn and find a community to help you grow. All types of people attend North Central, from people with low GPAs to older adults trying to finish degrees. The best way to find out if it is a good college for you would be to visit their website: www.northcentral.edu or to schedule a campus visit day. |

Am learning a lot | The professors at North Central University are outstanding! Not only do they cover all the criteria in a well fashioned manor, they are there for help and love to generate relationships. |
Am enjoying being here | Its a fun place to be! Right in downtown Minneapolis i rarely find myself bored. Within North Central its a small community so getting to know people is very easy! |
Bang for the buck | North Central University is a private school thus is very expensive. It all depends on if you agree with its mission statement and what its attempts are. Some students may disagree with the classes they have to take, but for me i really appreciate them. |
Tips for prospective students | North Central University is a Christ-Centered University so having a relationship with the Lord is very key. Just be ready for some interesting Bible courses and also to meet fellow Christians. This University is very respectable and is so much fun as well. Great Music Department as well as ASL (American Sign Language) Department. |
Great for these types of students | Students who are outgoing and love to help. Like I said before, North Central is right in downtown Minneapolis so there is a lot of room for volunteer work through the school to help those in need! Students who are hard working and just love to have fun with people who are alike are 100% welcome!! |

In three sentences | North Central University is the true deal when it comes to Christian Colleges. Christ is at the center of the experience. Many world-class Bible scholars are on staff, and genuinely care to go the extra miles for students (especially when you show interest!) |
Tips for prospective students | Attend NCU Days to get a well-rounded experience. Attend a chapel service, eat in the cafeteria, and be sure to attend classes. Don't just sleep in! Try to attend at least one Bible class to get a feel for them. |
Academic Rigor | It varies tremendously between professors. Generals tend to be easier. Professors in general tend to be rather forgiving of genuine excuses for late work. Maybe it's just because of Christ working in me, but I feel that I really learn information well here and am not struggling through coursework. |
Dorm Life | I can say (at least for the floor I'm on) there is a great dorm experience! Residents are mindful of each other and most partake in random floor outings and activities. There is a high level of community and concern for one-another. The only complaints I have are on random occasions when the heat doesn't work as expected. Floors are single-gender, and each floor is assigned a brother or sister floor for community purposes. Quiet hours are in effect from 11pm till 9:00am each night/morning. Dorms are open for visitors on the weekends, Friday-Sunday. |
Food and Dining | There are two main options for dining: the cafeteria (limited hours) and deli (extended hours). Both offer take-out services. For the cafeteria, a $5 deposit can be given in order to receive a green box, with which you can stuff with as much food as you're capable of doing. Upon returning the box, your deposit is returned in full. Staples in the deli are sub sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwiches, chicken tender sandwiches, hamburgers, pizza slices, Uncrustables, salad, etc. Staples in the cafeteria are a build-your-own sandwich line (with grill), salad bar, taco bar, hot dog bar, dessert area with six ice creams, and many beverage choices (including a new iced coffee brewer) |
What to do for fun | Located in Downtown Minneapolis, there are many options for fun near campus. Just driving a short 5-10 minutes will get you to countless restaurants, a theater, grocery stores, bakeries, scenic areas near the Mississippi River, etc. On campus, options are slightly more limited. There is a game area with ping-pong, pool and Foosball in the lobby of Carlson Hall. There is also a free-access weight and exercise room and a full-size gym. Plenty of on-campus organizations also host regular events. |
Bang for the buck | North Central University is one of the cheapest private universities in the Midwest. Many scholarships are also made available to students based on academic merit, musicianship, athletic ability, etc. Room and board costs are honestly less than what you'd pay living on your own outside of college. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | Too many to count! There is an annual snowball fight at midnight on the *NEW TURF SOCCER FIELD* once snow depth is appropriate. |
Great for these types of students | Those who are Christians or inquiring about Christianity and want to develop a genuine relationship with their Creator through deep knowledge, relationship, and experience. Also, North Central University is great for those looking to become ministers, musicians, business people, educators, and even more! |
Clubs and Activities | -Encounter: practical aid and prayer for those in the downtown club area -Release: prayer and practical action to prevent trafficking -Athletics: many -Intramural sports -Bro-Sis floor community -Exercise/weightlifting -ASL (American Sign Language) -Writing and student newspaper -Student leadership (student government, RA, DL) -Student employment (housekeeping, maintenance, computer lab, tech support, audio/visual support) -Music of all types -Many more |
Greek Life | There are no fraternities or sororities. |
Campus Safety | All students enter the building through ID cards. Doors automatically lock behind. After 1:30am, returning students are required to check in with security for safety purposes. There are nearly a hundred security cameras continually recording and seeking out motion. Dorm rooms are, of course, lockable. There is a full-time 24/7 security staff at North Central. (Many students are also employed by security). They offer continual patrolling of campus areas, free van rides to locations three blocks or nearer from campus, etc. All are trained to handle disturbances, and no significant issues have been brought to my attention during my stay here. The campus security and safety report from the last few years shows minimal on-campus theft, and very few nearby disturbances for an urbanized, downtown population. |

Tips for prospective students | Be sure to enter with a heart and sense for community. With the population just over 1,000 , the students at North Central are close knit and spend a lot of time giving back to the community. |
Dorm Life | North Central University's dorm life is where family is formed. You are never alone in the sense that great and uplifting conversation is always made available. |
Food and Dining | Pioneer Foods of Minneapolis provides the dining experience at North Central. Buffet style makes the selection process satisfying. The menu is on rotation, so you do not have to eat the same meals constantly, but yet you will never go a long time without revisiting your favorite choices. |

Located in the heart of Minneapolis, this campus is surround by nightlife and city parks. As far as on campus fun, there is realistically a club/group for every academic field. |
