What Students Are Saying

Always arrive to classes on time and miss as few as possible. When and if you do miss a class, talk to a classmate or the professor in order to see what you missed. A lot of times the professors at Missouri Western will make exceptions for certain absences and allow you to make up the work. Also, do not buy your books before classes start. The professors are required to post a book online for their class but sometimes the professors do not actually require a book for the class. Many students do not buy their books until after the first couple of days of classes. I would suggest that students who are unfamiliar with the classes should walk the campus a few days before classes start in order to figure out where all of the buildings are located. Missouri Western's campus is very spread out and can sometimes be confusing.

Keep your options open, but know when to see a good deal when it finally arises!
Joseph from Trenton, MO
Get involved. There is so much to do and its a great way to meet people. And also, class sizes are decently small so don't be afraid to use that to your advantage. Teachers are usually willing to help and you can get to know more students that you can buddy up with on projects and studying.
Megan from St Joseph, MO
Come with an open mind, positive attitude and all your stuff! Go out and meet new friends, join clubs, and get a quality education. There's something here for everyone.

Definitely take a tour of the campus. They will show you anything you want to and they will answer all of your questions. They can even let you sample one of the classes. Talk to a lot of people and get their opinions and also try to find information about all of our clubs.
Chelsea from Leavenworth, KS
