Hollins University
Hollins University is a four-year liberal arts school located in Roanoke, Virginia. Founded in 1842, it is the first all-women’s institution in the state. Hollins offers over 30 areas of study while also featuring coeducational programs at the graduate level. Hollins prides itself on experiential learning opportunities. One of the first colleges in the US to create a study abroad program, we now host programs in many countries including England, France, Ecuador, and Greece. Every January, our students gain global and professional experience by taking internships, participating in faculty-led research, or studying abroad. Boasting many different student clubs and organizations, we offer affinity groups for even the most niche of interests. And, as a Hollins student, you can partake in Tinker Day, a campus-wide tradition for which classes are canceled so the whole community can hike together (in costume!) up nearby Tinker Mountain for a mountaintop feast and social gathering.
