As a Baruch student, I have been learning non-stop since I first started attending last Fall. Baruch Professors set the class environment and give you the push you need to challenge yourself.

I enjoy being here for three reasons. I enjoy the challenge from most of the Professors here, I appreciate the convenience of the Computer Lab, and most of all, I love the diversity among the students.

The classes are a bit expensive. A full schedule will cost about $2,000. They recently had to raise the cost per class, so now it's about $2,500. If I were to advise, I would tell students to take 18 credits in a semester because you pay the same price once you are taking over 12 credits.

I would say that overall, Baruch College is a great school that gives students a very clear pathway to their goals. They have very good advisers to help students keep on that path to success.

Baruch is great for students who like to get in and get out of class quick. Classes start and end promptly. It's for the student who likes the city life of New York. There are only 3 campus buildings, but there is much to do in the area around the school.

Definitely everything you would expect from a CUNY college placed in Manhattan. The experience you'll get out of a class is highly dependent on the professor you choose, since they all teach their classes differently but so far I haven't had a bad experience. Although their student services are pretty slow and annoying at times, especially their mail which arrives at your house weeks from when it was first written, it's kind of expected.

Do all of your paperwork much, much earlier than you expect to, or pick days that you know people won't be actually attending the college such as during spring break or on a holiday where the school is still open because the lines for offices like Financial Aid just aren't worth it.

Definitely invest in a laptop because some professors go too fast for you to keep up in writing. And I've encountered some that base all of their tests solely on your notes and not at all on the books.

Try and look up information about the professor before deciding on your classes since their teaching styles will dramatically affect how the course goes (especially since some of them don't even give traditional finals).

Apply early to your classes, especially if you want to take them in the afternoon. The competition for spots in popular courses is brutal... Some students were even caught using programs that automatically apply for them so they could reserve their spot. If you can't apply early, then I hope you're a morning person.

I wouldn't apply for more than 4 classes a semester with the workload some of the professors provide you, especially if you intend on having a social life.

Always rent your books, never buy because even though the professor may say you'll need it for the course, in my experience it's rare that the book is so fundamental to the class that it's worth buying.

If you live outside of the city, or far from the school, definitely try and get used to trains. Driving your car is not an option with the parking problems, and the traffic makes taxis almost obsolete.

The classes so far have definitely been more challenging than I'm used to, and sometimes in different ways (Not just the typical write me a 5 page essay sort of deal.)

If you're a lover of Asian food, like myself, you'll find plenty of options right outside of the college. Right across from the campus are Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Thai restaurants, and even a mexican grill that I go to often.

Although there's a Starbucks in the college itself, there's also one across the street.

It's definitely one of the best experiences I've had with a college given it's tuition rate. Although I would love for the paperwork stuff to go smoother, you're just never going to have a totally bumpfree experience with a community college.

I would say it appeals to all, especially given the huge amount of foreign transfer students. Life will be much easier on you if you're going for business, though, since that's the school's main focus. Also, speak fluent English. I can't imagine how hard the classes would be if you didn't speak English well enough.

All kinds, for all different religions and sports enthusiasts, and even gender specific like Women in Business.

Many security guards everywhere. Haven't heard of a single problem happening here in my time attending.

It's a very competitive school, you need to be on top of your game at all times and DO NOT procrastinate!

Although there isn't much you can eat inside the school, there are plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walk.

You wont be allowed to pass security without your student ID card

Baruch College is a well-known accounting school where prospective students from all over the US come for a business degree. The professors here are very helpful with structured lectures and there is a large base of support, including homework help and internship advisement. This is my first year at Baruch College and I love it here.

Being a student at Baruch is not going to be easy. There is a lot of competition and the professors expect us to put in the work in and out of the classroom. Priority management is a must.

There is a subway station right next to the dorm that drops you off a block away from school. If you do not feel comfortable taking a subway, there is also a bus stop right by the dorm that also drops you off a block away from school. But overall, living in the city is an experience unlike any other experience.

The cafeteria has a lot of great food all day long. But this is the city and there are plenty of places to go get food right outside of campus. Everyone's favorite is the dollar slice pizza spot right outside of school.

We have a gym, a swimming pool, racket ball courts, and basketball courts available to all students.

Our plaza attracts a lot of people. A whole city block was closed down so that us students can spend time outside and interact with other students.

There are clubs of all kinds here at Baruch. From all types of sports, to all types of nationalities, there is a club that is fit for everyone. Sports are also well known. We have many teams that are part of NCAA Division 3.

There are a large number of Sororities and Fraternities here at Baruch.

There are security guards at every entrance of the school. No one can come into the buildings without proper ID.

Baruch College is an exciting place to be! Located in the concrete jungle that is Manhattan, it provides an awesome learning and fun college experience for students of many diverse races. In this school are three schools: The ZIcklin School of Business (Top 5 Business schools in NY), Weissman School of Arts and School of Public Affairs where you can surely find a degree program that suits your liking and your lifestyle.

Don't expect all fun and games. Getting into Baruch is tough. Getting into the Zicklin School of Business is tougher. Get prepared to work almost three times as long outside the classroom than inside it just to get a satisfactory grade. Baruch is not one of the best schools in New York because they allow slackers.

The academics are pretty intense from the start and only get more intense as you progress in the school, so while the classes are moderately easy in the freshman and sophomore years, stock up on good grades because they are extremely tough to get as you progress.

Baruch itself does not offer great food, but there are plenty of dining options within a square block radius of the campus that you will definitely find enjoyable. From Korean to Greek to French, there is something you will find to suit your pallet.

With over 200 clubs that you can join on a whim there is no lack of fun things to do. There's also a game room complete with pool table, air hockey, and ping pong and plenty of lounge areas located all aroung the school. Also on the lower level is the athletic department: basketball courts, volleyball courts, swimming pool, paddleball arena, and full workout gym.

Baruch is an awesome school to attend because its not hidden away in a rural state, but it is in the heart of the business empire of The United States. New York CIty. This coupled with the fact that tuition usually doesnt exceed $3000-$4000 a semester makes for one really efficient and cost-friendly school.

Any student that wants to attend a quality school without paying the price of a private university is a perfect fit for Baruch College. Especially if you are planning to commute back and forth to school.

Clubs are abundant in Baruch, and out of the 200 plus that are available now there is a very easy way to start your own. Simply get ten student signatures and present them to the undergraduate association and that's it! Club started.

Baruch is the best bang for your buck college. Their business, liberal arts, and political schools are fantastic and very rigorous. They are tons of student life activities, as well as career path workshops.

Be prepared to work hard. Definitely get involved, and make friends.

Courses are challenging especially in the business course. Just try your best, and get to know the professors.

You are in NYC there are great restaurants around the campus that are delicious and affordable. The in house cafeteria is sort of expensive in my opinion.

You have the city, and a ton of activities throughout the different clubs at Baruch.

Baruch is a highly respected school for a reason. They higher amazing professors, atleast in psychology. Everyone is friendly even though its in downtown NY, and you meet people from around the world offering you different perspectives that will surely mature you.

Study smart, the classes here are not easy. Do not stay up last minute to study. Also, talk to professors after class. They are very warm and respectful, they will will remember your name a lot easier, and you can learn a lot if you ask them the right questions.

Very tough school. Its rare to come across an easy class, but your in college to work and this school shapes you to be a hard but smart worker.

Didn't dorm here so I can't rate. Its in manhattan so the subway seemed a lot more cost efficient for me.

Its downtown NY. You can find everything here, but its pretty expensive. I suggest cooking your own meals and bringing them with you to school.

Club are usually doing something fun with events. Parties are happening every thursday, if its not out in the open with fliers, ask around because there is always a party.

Baruch is known to be one of the best Bang for your buck schools. Its a, relatively speaking, affordable school with opportunities that pay back tons.

Its a great school for students who want to get into business but can't afford to go to prestigious schools. Its also great for students who do not want to dorm but live in the Tri-state area.

Clubs at Baruch are great. They are always hosting an event and giving away things. You can also start your own club if you wish.

Not too informed on this subject, but I do know Greek life is present and loud. Do some personal research on this topic.

Downtown Manhattan is really safe, especially after 911. Baruch is no exception. They take safety seriously.

It is a large, interesting school. There are a lot of opportunities for growth there. I look forward to going back.

Don't let yourself get overwhelmed by the size of the school. Being friendly and paying attention in class can take you very far.

I know that I just finished my first year and even though I was taking intro level classes, I felt well challenged. Not over whelming but not at all easy either.

I am not dorming, I'm commuting but my friends who do dorm seem to be having a enjoyable time.

You are in the middle of a food mecca! The food both inside the school and out offers a wide variety for people with different tastes.

Go shopping, sit in the library, join a club, go swimming, work out... The list can go on and on! Plus this school throws a great block party.

I honestly believe that this school is worth it. Plus the tuition is way less than going to another school.

This school is so diverse that this question is difficult to answer! All kinds of students.

My biggest regret is not joining a club! I am making it my business to join one when I go back. There are so many to choose from.

This college has a challenging study process. They make you study hard to achieve good grades. Therefore it's a respectful city college.

Don't hope for an easy life here. Be ready to commit yourself for learning.

College has two cafeterias and enough seating places. Around the college a lot of small shops and eateries.

College sells discounted tickets for Broadway shows, movie theaters.

Dedicated and smart. Don't really recommend to people who don't want to study to attend this college.

Security Guards, cameras everywhere

The college is in a great location in Manhattan. It is one of the higher-level academic institutions in CUNY. Its Zicklin School of Business is one of the top ranked business schools in the USA.

For the price, you get a good quality education and financial aid is available. Keep track of your paperwork, student ID, applications etc. because the staff is not that accomodating. Even though this is a CUNY college the course work is more demanding. Be prepared to study hard.

I don't dorm, and never had. BUT if you do it is a great place to do it. You are basically near downtown Manhattan. Lots of action and stuff to do, which could test your academic discipline if you are not careful.

Compared to other areas of Manhattan I would say the food is just OK. There are a few places near the school that have reasonably priced food and offer discounts if you show your ID. Be prepared to pay more for better food obviously.

There are a few bars/lounges and more upscale restaurants in the area. Also a park a couple blocks away.

For the education you receive I think the price is very reasonable.

Working students (like me, full time).

The campus ID system is much more secure than the old show me your badge system. You need to scan in through turnstiles manned by security, and if you don't register for the semester the ID becomes deactivated, so you can't walk into the campus buildings anytime you like. The area is also considerably safe, since it is in a more trendy area.
