In three sentences | CCMS is wonderful school to launch your career in funeral service. Classes are taught by professionals with years of experience in funeral service which contributes greatly to the crucial linkage between theory and practice. CCMS also provides lots of hands-on experience to help develop your skills and prepare you for your professional career. |
Tips for prospective students | Prospective students should prepare for themselves for this experience in a couple of different ways. The first is to make sure this is a career that you want to do. This career requires a lot of preparation for multiple board exams, which CCMS prepares you for. However, it is always best to be sure this is the career you want to invest your time and money into before coming to CCMS. The second piece of advice I can offer is academically prepare yourself. CCMS is known as the Harvard of mortuary schools, so you can imagine that the course load is quite heavy and rigorous. You should prepare yourself my developing good study habits and taking the necessary pre-requisite courses that are required for CCMS entrance. |
Academic Rigor | CCMS encompasses many subject matters including psychology, sociology, law, accounting, financing, anatomy, organic chemistry, public speaking, writing, and history. |
Dorm Life | There are no dorms at CCMS. Most students who are from out of town, live and work at a local funeral home while attending school. |
Food and Dining | There are many places to eat around CCMS. Form fast-food to fine dinning, you can find it all within 20 miles of the school. |
What to do for fun | There are many things to do for fun in and around Cincinnati. In the winter months there are many museums you can visit as well as the Newport Aquarium, located just 15 miles from the school. During the spring, summer, and fall months, there are many concerts and festivals along the Ohio river on both the Kentucky and Ohio side. You can also visit the Cincinnati Zoo or even take a trip to King's Island for an all day amusement park experience. If attractions aren't your thing, then there are many malls and shopping centers in and around greater Cincinnati for you to shop until you drop. |
Bang for the buck | This is an excellent school to begin your professional career in funeral service. You are taught many innovative ideas in improving the funeral service as well as allowing you the opportunity to participate in clinical practices. Well worth the money if this is the career that drives you. |
Campus Safety | This is an extremely safe campus. The parking lot is private and is monitored 24/7. This is also a very small school with few entrances that are monitored at all times. Overall, very safe! |
