New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology
The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology is a doctoral-level university that focuses on STEM disciplines, including information technology, computer science, physics and civil engineering. The campus is situated in the Rio Grande Valley, which features an 18-hole golf course. The university also conducts various research initiatives based on-campus. These include analyzing the scientific data of lightning, cloud physics, and water chemistry based on experiments from the nearby Magdalena Ridge Observatory. On-campus research also includes quantifying data that is transmitted from the school’s volcano observatory in Antarctica on the active Mount Erebus.
