Am learning a lot | I can honestly say I have never been at a school where the teachers care so much about their students. My professors have always made themselves available for out of classroom assistance and are willing to go over tricky topics if you find yourself struggling. I love that the educators are flexible and willing to talk about ideas that are current to society and yet are still able to tie them together with the material of the class. Harper allows you to learn and grow simultaneously. |
Am enjoying being here | Coming from a rural town to a big suburb where Harper is located was a bit intimidating for me. I applied knowing that I would not be seeing familiar faces on a daily basis. I'm now going into my fourth semester and couldn't be happier with my decision to attend Harper. I can't help but constantly talk about how much I enjoy my time at the school. The campus is aesthetically pleasing, it's obvious that the school representatives take pride in their establishment. Each classroom is equipped with top of the line technology which makes the learning experience more enjoyable. There are people throughout the school that are genuinely there for you and want to see you do well even after you leave Harper. |
Bang for the buck | Those who attend Harper College recieve the same education one would at a 4-year university, the only difference is the price. I've gone for three semesters and have yet to pay the amount one would for a single year at a big university. Those who choose to go to Harper will: pay significantly less while still recieving a university-level education, have smaller class sizes for more one-on-one time, & be able to use top of the line technology. |
Great for these types of students | Harper is great for all students young and old. There are programs that help adults, returning to school years later, get back on track and comply with their busy schedules. It's a great transitional school for graduating high school seniors who aren't sure they are ready to leave home for a big university. And it's great for students who want to save some money. Harper offers a variety of clubs and sports, there are activities and productions taking place around the campus all throughout the year, and because of the welcoming atmosphere, it's easy for all students to fit comfortably in the Harper environment. |

In three sentences | Great college that helps you out with the cost of college. They have great programs to help you with learning and they offer many opportunities. The campus also has a brand new library that really helps students who are striving for good academic achievements. |
Tips for prospective students | Look at the Harper College website to see things like scholarship opportunities as well as the honors society or phi theta kappa. |
Academic Rigor | While most teachers know to challenge students with their classes while not being to hard, there are some that may take it way to easy on the students to the point where you don't feel like you are learning. There are also some teachers that make class harder than it needs to be. |
Dorm Life | There are no dorms |
Food and Dining | There is a regular cafeteria, coffee spots, subway and a Starbucks on campus, |
What to do for fun | There is a lot of clubs you can join and there's almost always a movie night set up each month |

In three sentences | William Rainey Harper is amazing, one of the greatest quality harper offers would be the many classes to choose from and as well as programs. These programs can either be to start an interest in a career or to further education. Harper offers the best education with the top best professors who want nothing more than to make sure students are pushed to their best ability and success they can be. |
Tips for prospective students | Students, always look to the future never the past. Make mistakes to learn from them, although it may seem hard and impossible in the moment ask yourself how bad do you want this? |
Academic Rigor | Depending which course is being taken at the moment. But all classes offer a challenging point or others would say frustrating point, but all in all in the long run it helps students be pushed to understand "real-world" deadlines, meetings, on call careers and so on. ultimately challenging courses lead to successful students. |
Dorm Life | Harper offers housing options, personally I live in the area thus not needing to be in a dorm or any other, but great housing option that harper does offer. |
Food and Dining | Food and dining is always warm, and at a very good price. they offer different options from oatmeal to sandwiches or soups, harper has a little bit of everything so students can have a list to choose from. |
What to do for fun | Harper offers a lot of clubs as well as sports, they have a starbucks to relax with friends or do homework, they offer youth groups, as well as on campus jobs and so on. But a student can also go to the mall which is only 5 minutes from harper or can go out for pizza for lunch, again it is only 5 minutes from campus. |
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus | Harper is located in such a great location, it is close to many restaurants, the mall, they are close to great plazas. On campus they do have subway and starbucks which is great for student who like a quick lunch and coffee with that. |
Clubs and Activities | Harper has so many clubs and activities to choose from, they are endless. They have spanish club, italian club, they offer everything and anything. |
Campus Safety | Harper has the best safety guards, usually students might see them strolling through the halls or outdoors. Personally I feel at ease and safe on campus, when I am on campus I do not feel worried or feel as if my life is at risk. overall harper has a great safe environment not only physically but mentally as well. |
