Colleges in Oklahoma

A Southern state whose official state song was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein, Oklahoma has a distinctive panhandle, 50 state parks, and two nationally protected forests. Most of the colleges in Oklahoma are state universities, but there are several private institutions, as well. The oldest institution in the state is the University of Central Oklahoma, UCO, while the University of Tulsa is the most selective. There are also five tribal colleges. Oil and gas, aviation, telecommunications and biotechnology are top industries in the the Sooner State, while the Gilcrease Museum, Woolaroc Ranch, and the longest run of Route 66 are prominent attractions.
