Southern Oregon University is a 4-year public liberal arts college in south central Oregon. SOU confers bachelor’s degrees in 36 academic fields of study and provides numerous opportunities to engage in field study, internships, and capstone projects. In addition to classroom space, the SOU campus houses the Rogue Valley Television station and Jefferson Public Radio. To escape the rigors of academia, the university is surrounded by numerous natural attractions including the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, Rogue River, multiple national parks, and the Deer Creek Center.

This campus is perfect for those who love to be close to nature and enjoy living in smaller towns. The location is absolutely beautiful with a variety of places to go to such as going hiking or going downtown to get Italian food. Teachers know the students by their name and face which creates that good teacher and student bond.

The campus is gorgeous; the people are amazing and I don't even have to try to make friends; all of the professors I've met really trust their students and talk to us like equals; I'm never bored because there's always something going on around campus; and I've had more freedom with choosing cases than I have anywhere else! I was nervous about starting college just like everyone else. But by the end of the first week, I decided that I couldn't imagine myself being anywhere else!
