Providence College
Founded in 1917 by the Dominican Friars, Providence College is a Catholic, Dominican liberal arts institution located in the city of the same name in Rhode Island. PC offers 52 major fields of study and was the first college in the nation to offer a bachelor's degree in Public and Community Services Studies. Students are required to take courses on philosophy and theology, but Providence "seeks to reflect the rich diversity of the human family." The 105-acre campus features the Center for Orientation, Transitions & Leadership, First-Year Housing and Special Interest Housing Cohorts (which all enforce strict parietals), and multiple places to pray.

This college is the premiere place to learn how to think critically and write proficiently. PC creates opportunities for their students through a well-connected Alumni network that is deeply concerned for the welfare of current students and recent graduates. It is a medium size college with a family-like atmosphere that from my experience exists nowhere else.
