Originally founded to serve the educational needs of a large group of returning World War II veterans, Ohio University Eastern is a regional campus in the OU system. OUE grants 13 bachelor’s and two associate degree programs entirely on campus as well as the opportunity to begin classes for more than 250 other OU undergraduate programs. For students who wish to pursue careers in the sports and recreation industries, OUE offers degrees in Sports & Lifestyle Studies and Exercise Physiology. The campus is also home to a covered bridge and the Great Western Schoolhouse, a restored one-room school building listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
