Founded in 1876, Meharry Medical College is an institution of health sciences in Nashville and an Historically Black College and University. Affiliated with the United Methodist Church, Meharry is home to Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. In addition, Meharry hosts the student-run Saltwagon Clinic offering free medical care to underserved populations. For a break from classes, Meharry’s Ross Fitness & Recreation Center includes an aerobics room and full basketball court.
