Tuition, Cost & Aid
Affordability and Cost
Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.
Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

What Students Are Saying
This is the cheapest education you can get at a 4 year college for In-state and Out-state!
Briana from Richton Park, IL
Over, I have had a great experience so far with Gov State.
Charles from Plainfield, IL
It is the cheapest University in Illinois. Although I think it personally stinks that I busted butt in high school and community college and didn't get much except loans, I can't complain because I'll still be leaving with about 80% less loans to pay than all of my friends.
Jessica from Oak Lawn, IL
Coming from a community college the transition was easy coming to GSU, the campus pretty much is on one site with the exception of the computer lab department, and the child care center.
Richard from Crestwood, IL
I think this school is doing a good job,I know past students that also say it is cheaper than most. Mostly everyone gets a good vibe.
Joan from Hazelcrest, IL
Feasable tuition.
Tracey from Markham, IL

Kyndria from Chicago, IL
