Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

What Students Are Saying

Being a cuny college the tuition for a year is more or less around $5000. With federal pell grant and the nys tap it usually covers your costs depending how much is awarded. Sometimes you might get some money back.
Kayla from Valley Stream, NY
the College is definitely more bang for your buck because the tuition is less expensive and the bookstore gives you cheaper prices for the textbooks in every course.

Try to make York College your home! You will enjoy it here if you give in some of your time. The faculties and staffs there are really nice. It depends which counselors you meet because it's always nice to have a trusted-adult here.
You won't feel left out, but if you do try talking to front desk in the Student Activities. There are always posters on the board so you surely can't miss that out! The student government is always active, so if anything you can always check that out too!
*Before going to college, I was really worried about having to select a college and York College turns out to be closer to me, and thank goodness I was accepted.
Smile from Astoria, NY
The experiences at York are worth every penny of tuition (which is not expensive by the way), but the people you meet along the way and lessons you learn are priceless.
