What Students Are Saying
If you plan on attending this school, I recommend you apply for classes ASAP, because budget cuts have taken a toll on a lot of students. Also, don't be too proud to ask for help, everyone needs it at some point, just ask! Go to Library for laptop lending up to two hours available (must be a student). If you're driving, I recommend getting to school early to get a decent parking.
Zachary from Fresno, CA
If you do plan to come here be prepared the weather changes drastically at times. But if you have not experienced real seasons you will be amazed. For the winter bring warm clothing and for the summer get ready for the pool. Also do not feed the squirrels especially it they look friendly, I did once and almost got attacked. Last but not least, just be yourself! Everyone here is extremely friendly and they will like you for who you are. :)
Virginia from San Clemente, CA
CSU, Fresno has one of the largest libraries in California, and the nation which over one-million-plus books including various other resources. We have a great athletics department, namely our men's baseball team which won the NCAA Tournament in 2008. We also have a fantastic and top-notch music department.
Constantine from Fresno, CA
Relax! CSUF can put you through the ringer if you sign up for challenging classes, but don't let that put you off. Nobody said learning is easy, and both the teachers and tutoring services will be sure to have you passing your classes with flying colors.
Jessica from Fresno, CA
I would suggest to visit Fresno's campus during Vintage Days. Also look for housing early because the prices increase later in the summer.
Kaitlan from Santa Maria, CA
Always pay your tuition on time; you can be dropped from your classes if you don't. If you really want a class, and it's full, be persistent. Get wait listed, go to the class and talk to the professor. If you show how determined you are, you have a better chance of getting into the class. Sign up for classes ASAP. And most importantly, study hard, but always remember to take some time for yourself.
Malissa from Lemoore, CA
Definitely read your syllabus and check ratemyprofessor.com to make sure your professor has a descent amount of reviews or ask around first! Always go to class and never check out early or miss a lecture because you will fall behind even if you do get notes from friends. I learned that the hard way but following my friends. Always talk to your professor if you have questions because professors are willing to help with their office hours.
Paula from Fresno, CA
It is important to get to know your teachers by going to their office hours. Its a great way for you to get to know them and vice versa. They are there to help so take advantage of that.
