All of the professors are experts in their fields, and are willing to go the extra mile to help make sure you learn what you want to.

It's so much fun! You don't have to worry about roommates who party too much or people showing up to class drunk or high- they'd get kicked out. We have good, wholesome fun here. There are so many activities too- something for everyone!

The church takes most of the hit tuition-wise, so it's like everybody gets a scholarship! BYU is pretty cheap, but you get one of the best educations in the country.

Don't take an early morning class, especially your first semester! You'll be doing a lot of adjusting, and even if you have early-morning seminary now, you won't make it to class sometimes or you won't be able to concentrate.

BYU is great for students who enjoy learning and are willing to study hard. It's great for people who like to have fun, but know when it is time to study. You need to have a strong work ethic to do well at BYU.

BYU is a great college. There are those classes where you will learn a whole ton if you haven't graduated preschool, and then conversely there are classes that are so difficult that they are impossible. So far, I haven't taken either of those type of classes. My classes have been perfect, just enough challenge to just enough work.
Each class teaches at different rates, so if you learn quick sign up for an honors or advanced course. In one class I learn more than twenty new things a day, in another only five or six. It depends on the class, but BYU has a faculty that will do what they can to help you learn at your rate.

BYU is a a bunch of fun. BYU is as fun as watching a penguin do a backflip to catch a banana (If you think this is fun then BYU is for you, if not then I obviously have a bad example). BYU provides many different activities every week or two, and then there are so many clubs that I find a new one or three ever week. Everyone is nice everywhere you go and everybody reciprocates kind actions to anybody. The BYU students and faculty appreciate being here.

BYU is the top accounting school in the nation, and the tuition is between $2,000 and $5,000 a semester. BYU's teaching programs are rated some of the best in the country, and since the USA is the best college/university nation in the world, BYU's programs are some of the best in the world.
If I went an IV league college I would have to pay about $30,000 in tuition for one semester alone, and then BYU may have a better program than the IV league.

Don't slack, don't stay up late, don't procrastinate, don't be stupid. Basically the same as any school, but do follow the honor code.
If you're like me and a cook, you'll avoid the Cannon Center like a toad on a kabob. The Cannon Center is the All you can eat food court for anyone, but mainly Freshman eat there. If you don't cook the meals they cook the food tastes amazing, but I do cook the foods they do.
Exercise in the morning, the FDA recommends it plus it is a good way to meet people in the weight room.
Do eat, do sleep, do do the work, do attend every activity possible, do go to the dances, do go to the amazing presentations in the Eyring Science Center, and do explore campus.

Academic initiatives, people who care about receiving an education. People who can pay or can get some sort of funding for the education.

I can feel my brain expanding and soaking up information every single day.

The students and the faculty are great - polite and helpful in every way.

You really do get so much for your money!

Be open-minded. Make friends. Study hard, work hard. Pay attention in class. Take advantage of the free activities on campus. Make the best out of the time you have at this great university!

College in general is going to be more intense than high school, and BYU is no exception. Although getting adjusted to the rigor of classes and extracurricular activities is challenging, there are so many people willing to help you, from professors to academic advisers to random people in your classes. I have learned so much in my field and about myself since coming to BYU!

I absolutely love BYU! At first, I wasn't sure I would fit in with the LDS culture here because I assumed everyone would be the same and I would be bored. However, I soon learned that there is so much clean fun to participate in, from hiking the Y to going to Divine Comedy shows (a sketch comedy group) to cheering for our boys during football games. Everyone is so friendly - just talk to people in your classes and ward - and you'll have friends in no time. I am SO glad I chose BYU.

The cost of attending BYU is relatively inexpensive for the world-class education you receive. Ivies can cost around $50K for tuition alone; tuition at BYU is a fraction of the cost. The professors are renowned in their fields, yet still are more than willing to meet with students. Campus has hundreds of resources that are free to students (a counseling center, one of the largest college libraries in the US, museums, etc) due to generous donations from alumni and LDS church members. Of all the universities I looked at, BYU has the best bang for the buck.

Remember that college is different from high school - you'll have to work harder and longer than you ever did before, but the opportunities here are totally worth it. Live on-campus your first year - you'll meet so many people and be with students your own age. Enjoy your college years - you'll never get these years back.

I love the BYU experience! The classes are invigorating and fun! Sure, the Classes are difficult but you have access to professors you can talk to one-on-one, all-day tutoring labs, and study groups that you can have anywhere on this beautiful campus. You will be able to maintain your knowledge on main subjects and expand your knowledge in new subjects. Not only do you grow mentally, but you can also grow spiritually as the professors share and incorporate the gospel into their lesson.

There are many social interactions and activities to do on campus like outdoor adventures, service and extracurricular activities. The campus has plenty of exquisite restaurants, exercise facilities, and beautiful places for social gatherings. Y Mountain is always fun to hike any time of year. Also there is always somewhere to get away from the hustle and bustle, just explore and discover the campus and you’ll be surprised at what you find.

BYU is one of the most prestigious Universities in the nation and it’s one of the cheapest. It’s all thanks to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because their tithing pays for most of the students’ tuition every year. That way everyone’s on scholarship and they pay a fraction of the cost. Besides that they offer plenty of financial aid and scholarships.

Some advice I would give to BYU hopefuls is to do your homework as soon as you get out of class. This way you can open to do activities in the evening. Since you have to live on campus in the dorms, students around you will be very distracting. Take advantage of tutoring labs, teaching assistants and review and you’ll be in good shape. Get to know as many people as possible and make many new friends by accompany those who are alone. Finally, be open to spiritual change.

BYU is great for all prospective students. Even though this is a university with Latter-day Saints influence and history, non-members are welcomed and accepted. BYU opens its doors to all cultures and international students come from wide and abroad. Also BYU is one of the best universities for the physically disabled, because every building is accessible and there is handicapped week for awareness.

There is SO much available here that you can't possibly be involved in everything. I know, I've tried. The professors are great, and generally willing to help you one-on-one. I didn't really take notes in high school, but here I am hanging on almost every word. Not only can I get a good grade, but I can learn valuable life lessons- for the workforce and in personal life.

I personally think that the best thing about BYU is Clubs Night. Every Tuesday you can go to the Wilkinson Center and there are clubs everywhere-for any possible interest! I have been involved mostly in music, like the A Capella Club and Folk Music Club. But you can find literally anything! A great date night.

It is worth it to go here. But only if you are willing to put the work in to be outstanding. Everyone here is smart and very talented, so you have to work very hard to set yourself apart.

If you want to get in, I would suggest working very hard. Starting yesterday. Seriously, it is pretty competitive. But it is so worth it to have the environment available here.

As a student at BYU, the classes are challenging, but the things you learn are incredibly rewarding. The professors care about each student individually, and are always willing to talk about the course material with you, one on one. Several professors here have received national honors for the good they do for their students.

The atmosphere at BYU is incredible. People here are different, and that difference is based on a love of the Savior Jesus Christ and a desire to live by his commandments. The students all have similar standards and are all striving for one thing, to be disciples and scholars. Every Tuesday, there is an incredible devotional with a General Authority of the Church on which the entire campus shuts down to give everyone an opportunity to participate. The dating life is great too.

If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the church takes care of a lot of the cost. BYU is the biggest private religious school in the states, and, even with that, keeps tuition low for those who attend it.

Come to BYU ready to have fun and make hundreds of life-long friends, all while learning and growing. It is truly a unique place, with thousands of incredible people. The sports are incredible. Get yourself a sports pass and you and I will watch Jimmer slam the Utes next year!
If you are going to be a Freshman, live at Helaman Halls. It is the best quality dorms on campus and has the delicious Cannon Center right in the middle of it. It has a great square in the center that is incredible for lying out in the summer with your friends and getting some sun while studying. You are going to love it here!

BYU is great for Christians and anyone looking for a spiritual experience during college.

BYU is such a great school. The professors are very intelligent and know what they're talking about. Classes are hard, but I am definitely learning a lot.

I LOVE BYU!!!! It is so much fun. The people are amazing. The only problem is that it is hard to get as much sleep and studying because there are fun things going on all the time. I love it though. I wouldn't switch schools for anything.

BYU is nice because tuition is a lot cheaper that other universities because the LDS church helps pay for it. They have a lot of scholarships too.

Work hard and write good application essays. Also, apply for BYU scholarships!

The teachers are here to teach, not to just train you for a job. All of the teachers want you to succeed and do well there are always opportunities for students to get help.

There are so many friendly people here and you get to know a lot of people. In the dorms and on campus there are always free or less expensive activities going on, you can always find something to do, it's awesome.

Coming here was cheaper than going to an instate school, also apply for scholarships which makes it even less expensive than before.

If you take two years of AP history classes you can get out of American Heritage which is a really difficult class. Make sure you go out of your way to meet new people and make friends so you can enjoy some of the fun stuff along with academics.

As long as you are here to work and grow academically and spiritually any student can make it. If you are accepted to BYU you already know you are smart, just make sure you continue to work hard.

Absolutely! My classes are even more challenging than all of the AP classes I took in high school. Plus, BYU has the benefit of being able to combine secular and religious education, so all that I'm learning in every class, ranging from chemistry to Book of Mormon, is applicable in all aspects of my life, religious or secular.

Between creative FHE activities fingerpainting and hiking the Y and football games and True Blue Tuesdays, I can't even imagine what my life would have been like at any other university. College offers many new experience, most challenging, but many more exciting and memorable and fun.

Not only is BYU's tuition much, much less than any other university, but it also offers quite a few additional scholarships. And, in my opinion, the quality of education offered here is every bit as good as that offered at many $40,000-per-year schools.

Take advantage of everything there is to do on campus. There are so many different clubs, like Premed club or Salsa dancing club or the medieval club practicing sword fighting, and intramural sports and fantastic music groups like the Cougar Marching Band or Living Legends or the BYU Young Ambassadors. And there are so many campus events, from football games to career and internship fairs and dances. Don't focus too much on getting your education finished that you miss out on all the exciting experiences you can have along the way.
