University of West Georgia
The University of West Georgia is a public, 4-year, R3 doctoral research university. UWG offers over 85 academic programs, and is home to an Honors College. UWG is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and is classified as a SACS Level VI University, the highest level possible. The sprawling 645-acre campus has extensive lush vegetation, that it’s deemed a Trees of America campus. A home to a community of athletes, UWG hosts 14 Division II athletic teams and sponsors off-campus adventure trips, such as backpacking, and whitewater rafting.

UWG is a very nice small school that is usually best as a starting point for more in-depth careers, such as environmental engineering or art. The only problem that I have found is that the school is trying too hard to seem like the college to attend, and it's advertising campaign is a bit embarrassing. The teachers are usually really cool, though, but do make sure to ask others who have taken them before about their teaching style.

University of West Georgia is a great school. The location is nice, it's like the town is only for the school. Everywhere you go you see something that might say "UWG", its just cute. The school also has a great balance between doing your work and having fun. People say it's a party school but I think that would be exaggerating.

UWG wasn't my first choice but I thank God He knows what's best. I had the chance to become part on an on/campus ministry called BCF and met THE most amazing people through it. Carrollton overall is quiet and great for studies. That being said, the sort of college experience you have is up to you. Make it your goal to surround yourself with positive and like/minded people who want to succeed and accomplish the goals set before them because remember, you become the company the keep. All the best to you!
